Processing
Use
Ifyougrantfreegoodstoacustomer,youcanimplementautomaticfreegoodsdetermination.Thesystem
automaticallycreateafreegoodsiteminthesalesorder.Theitemisfreeofcharge.Forinclusivefreegoods,the
mainitemisautomaticallyreducedbythefreegoodsquantity.Forexclusivefreegoods,thequantityofthemain
itemremainsthesame.

Example
Yougrant2piecesofamaterialasfreegoodswhenthecustomerorders100pieces.Forinclusivefreegoods,
thetwopiecesaredeductedfromthequantityofthesalesmaterialandcreatedasaseparatefreeofcharge
item.Forexclusivefreegoods,thecustomerreceivestwoadditionalpiecesasanadditionalfreeofcharge
item(seefigurebelow).

Prerequisites
Customizing
FreegoodsdeterminationrequiresCustomizingsettingsinSDbasicfunctions.
Masterdata
Freegoodsdeterminationrequiresthatthefreegoodsbemaintainedinthemasterdata.

Features
Freegoodsdeterminationinthecustomerorder
Thefreegoodsrecordshaveavalidityperiod.Theyareaccessedusingthepricingdate.
Thefreegoodsitemisdeterminedautomaticallybythesystem,accordingtothedatainthefreegoodsrecord.In
thestandardsystem,itemcategoryTANNissetforfreegoodsitems.

Note
YoucanalsoenterfreegoodsmanuallybyenteringitemcategoryTANNastheitemcategoryindoubleline
entry.Inthiscase,however,thesystemwillnotaccessthemasterdataandthecontrolparameterscontained
therein.
Thesysteminformsyouifanorderdoesnotreachtheminimumquantityspecifiedforfreegoods.InCustomizing
youhavetheoptionofsuppressingthismessageorsettingitasanerror(InCustomizingchoose: Salesand
distributionSalesSalesdocumentsDefinevariablemessages ThiscaseconcernsmessageV4160).
