31st May 2016

Back on 1st December last year I posted the following enquiry but I
never heard from anyone. The reasons why I now post the enquiry again
is that the mysterious heat events are still happening over six months
since they began and other things are happening too.
This is what I wrote back in December:
there has been a new development. It happened last Sunday
week, 22nd November [2015]. Now, when or not long after I lie down on
either of my beds one in the bedroom and one in the living-room I can
feel a heat rising up from beneath me.
The heat can be so evident that I have to move about to find a
comfortable position. And as far as I can judge, and I may be wrong, if I
remain motionless the heat goes up. One night the heat was on all night.
Its like having an electric blanket or some other kind of bed-warmer
that you didnt know you owned. One bed has a single inner-spring
mattress, and the other has two single inner-spring mattresses with a
foam-rubber mattress on top of both.
If you have any ideas about this new kind of .. ? I would be very
grateful for your help.
Since I posted that enquiry last December the heat has spread from
my beds to my kitchen, my bathroom, my car, and my [public] library. It
now accompanies me everywhere, making itself felt when Im out walking
in the soles of my feet, and I can never be sure where it will turn up and
declare its presence, how long for, or in what manner.
If youve read this far and feel a bit sceptical, please feel free to stop
reading, because from here on it only becomes less and less credible.
When lying down on the bed in the living-room I began noticing two
unexpected smells. One was the smell of burning meat, and the other
was a sharp, acrid smell that made me want to cough.

In addition, I could be writing at my computer when all of a sudden
my rate of thinking would slow down almost to a dead halt, and my
confidence about finishing the document I was working on would suffer a
sharp decline. You know how you can compose a letter in your head and
then you just write down what is already in your head well, all those
words and phrases would disappear - the flow would just dry up.
When I tried to explain all these happenings to myself - heat, smells,
and mental block - all I could remember was (1) reports of people living
near wind farms complaining about the health effects of inaudible
infrasounds coming from the windmills, and (2) that about thirty years ago
I once read that infrasounds and ultrasounds can silently and invisibly
penetrate the human body and interfere with the workings of the vital
organs, like your kidneys, your liver and your heart, causing serious
breakdowns up to and including sudden death.
So I looked up infrasounds in Wikipedia and, to my surprise, I found
myself being referred to articles about new laser-like, long-range, nonlethal electronic weapons which emit invisible and painful heat beams
and are used in breaking up riots and deterring would-be intruders from
entering premises that are off limits, say, a nuclear power station or a
military base. Please tell me. Am I on the right track or have I lost my
way?

[There now follow the nine replies my post attracted.]

You may possibly require psychiatric help, but if that is not your
problem, perhaps you never learnt any basic scientific principles in school.
There are lots of books now on these subjects targeted at adults and it
would be beneficial for you to try to educate yourself, rather than make a
fool of yourself speculating about nonsense magic rays and such like, as
per what you read in comic books.

The heading of this thread does not do the OPs post justice.

Have you had other people in the house that have felt the same
effects as you? This will at least tell you if it's just you (and a physical or
mental issue) or if it's a legitimate concern.

Maybe a long shot but if it [is] only you suffering these symptoms
then maybe look into the "man on fire" syndrome. I had a friend with this
and the 1st symptoms of it were mild burning or heating sensations in the
soles of his feet when walking or heating in the parts of his body in
contact with chairs when he was sitting or the same when he were lying
down.
Once the disease progressed the burning pains were excruciating
accompanied by swelling of the limbs. He is now confined to a wheel
chair. It took years for the full symptoms of the disease to materialise.
I am not saying you have it but a doctors check-up couldn't hurt.

I strongly suggest you see a doctor. The heat and smells are coming
from you [and] not [from] the environment, [and the] symptoms you
describe sound like a medical problem with your thyroid/ metabolism

So you [are] pretty much a walking heat-bank that smells like
burning meat. Get yourself a job at your local steak-house.

[I posted the following reply to all on Wednesday, 1st June 2016.]

Hi there!
Thanks, everyone, for your comments and suggestions.
Thanks, Runkle. I will try Chuck McGill. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks, Andrew. I live on my own, so theres no one who can verify
my account of things. But visitors drop in from time to time, and they
never complain about feeling hot themselves, and if I am feeling
unexplainably hot they show no signs of being aware of the fact.
Thanks, Tactical Nuclear Penguin, for the suggestion that the man
on fire syndrome might be playing a role in my perception of heat. I had
never heard of this until you wrote to me. I have started reading the
Wikipedia article on the subject, and when I understand it better I will
write to you again. It certainly seems a promising line of inquiry.
Thanks, Kathinoz, for the suggestion that it might be a thyroid or
metabolism problem. Maybe you have been reading my mind. :) Last
Tuesday I finally had a parathyroid adenoma removed at my local hospital.
The surgical procedure only took twelve (12) minutes. My calcium and
phosphorus levels have been irregular for some time. I also have kidney
stones.
And thanks, Dexothermic, for the suggestion that I see a neurologist.
My G.P. has for some time been advising me to do just this. I will get
cracking.
