HAITI: Jan 3-9, 2016:

HONDURAS: Jan 26-Feb 11 + Mar 15-28:

Fr. Herald joined Friar Suppliers and other CFR Friars and
Sisters for the fifth time on their annual mission trip to
Riviere Froide, Carrefour, Haiti. Together with our Haitian
collaborators, we worked together as a team to build 150
latrines, attend more than 1800 patients in our medical clinic
and distribute food to more than 1000 families. This years
special blessing was the multitude of children who
accompanied us with their wonder and laughter wherever
we were working. Our special miracle was a young man
named Jovince who was near death when we prayed over
him last year, but was alive and getting better when we saw
him this year. To see more photos and read Fr. Heralds
reflection, please visit:

Fr. Herald was in Honduras from late January through Ash

Wednesday for a retreat at the Catholic University and a
preparatory trip to one of the islands for an upcoming youth
event, and again in March for Jess en la Playa, our annual
Holy Week outreach to tourists who flood the north coast of
Honduras at this time of year. Jess en la Playa was especially
successful this year due to the participation of Missioners of
Christ, the collaboration of local supporters and youth groups
and the coverage provided by the Diocese of La Ceibas Radio
San Isidro and national Suyapa Television. To hear the theme
song composed and performed by our good friend Wilmer
Hernndez (below with guitar) and see more photos, visit:

CAMEROON UPDATE: SEVEN HEART PATIENTS SUCCESSFULLY OPERATED!

FMO is deeply grateful for everyone who contributed to our Christmas effort to provide life-changing heart surgery to
Cameroonian patients in need. We are happy to report that seven patients have successfully undergone surgery! Three of the
patients were part of the original group we presented in December. They are pictured in the top row above (l-r): Albert (19),
Saleh (8), and Eugene (58). Due to various complications (which are part of life in Cameroon), four of the original patients were
replaced with other candidates in need of surgery (bottom row, l-r): Georgette (43), Hamidou (29), Venyar (36) and Julia (22).

PREACHING IN THE US:

Fr. Herald was traveling most of Lent preaching parish
missions in the US at St. Faustina Church (Clemont, FL), St.
Louis (Alexandria, VA), St. Anthony (Southern Pines, NC) where the photo at right was taken, and St. Patrick
(Newburgh, NY). In addition to evening programs these
missions included Sunday and daily Masses in English and
Spanish, morning talks, school visits and Mass, youth
gatherings and lots of confessions. In April Fr. Herald was
in the Bronx filling in at St. Anthony Shelter for a friar
away on language studies and preaching retreats for CFR
friars in temporary vows and CFR Lay Associates.

Our missionary efforts depend on your spiritual and financial support. Please pray for us and
know that you are remembered in our prayers. Tax-deductible donations to support the life,
ministries and missionary efforts of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal can be made out to
