Raisa Andriana

Raisa Andriana (born June 6, 1990), is a newcomer in Indonesian music business. Raisa
started singing when she was 3 years old to the song "A Whole New World". Growing up
with minimal music education, she learn her unique singing style and voice through some of
her favorite singers like Brian McKnight, India Arie, Stevie Wonder, JoJo, Joss Stone, Alicia
Keys, James Ingram, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc. Her music is mostly pop with a
touch of RnB, she is hoping to give a new color to Indonesian music industry with her deep
soothing voice that you will love to listen over and over again. Her single "Serba Salah" will
be launched in July, and the rest of the album by the end of the year. Produced by Asta from
RAN, Handy and Rio from Soulvibe.
Raisa is a mixed of Sundanese-Dutch descent. She studied at Binus University.[1]
Career[edit]
2008-2010: Career beginning and "Andante"[edit]
Raisa's singing talent was shown since her early age. When she was 3, Raisa often pretended
to be a singer on stage. She was the vocalist of Andante, a band founded by Kevin Aprilio.
Andante was the earlier version of the band Vierra which is founded in 2008. There were five
members of the band: Raisa Andriana, Widi Soediro, Raka Cyril, Satrianda Widjanarko, and
Kevin Aprilio himself. Raisa got eliminated from the band because the label wanted a
different concept.[2] Raisa was also a regular singer in many cafe. She got many opportunities
from being a regular cafe singer.[3]
2010-2013: "First Album"[edit]
Raisa started gaining recognition for singing Serba Salah, and she became one of the guest
stars on Java Jazz Festival 2011. After performing on the prestigious event, she started to gain
popularity in Indonesian music industry. Raisa won an award in Anugerah Musik
Indonesia (Indonesian Music Awards) as Best Newcomer.[3]
Her first, self-titled album was produced and released in 2011 by Solid Records and
Universal Music Indonesia. The producers of the album were three young musicians from
Indonesian bands, named Asta Andoko (RAN), Ramadhan Handy (Soulvibe), and Adrianto
Ario Seto (Soulvibe), supported by Nanda Oka and Asta Andoko as Executive Producers of
Solid Records.[4]
2013-present: "Heart To Heart" and "Indonesian Idol"[edit]

Raisa launched her second album titled Heart to Heart on November 27, 2013. Upon the
press conference for the launching of this album, she gave a clear statement that she's here to
stay, and there surely will be a third, fourth, fifth album and so on. She also held a miniconcert for the press and 300 fans who were chosen from her album's Pre Order.[5]
In 2014, Raisa was appointed as a guest judge for the talent show television Indonesian Idol
Season 8. At first, Raisa was just a Guest Judge for the audition in D.I Yogyakarta, but
because the formation of the judge was incomplete at some point, Raisa was appointed to
replace the position.
In February 2015, Walt Disney Pictures picked Raisa to sing the soundtrack in Disney's latest
film, Cinderella, entitled A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.
