1 THE CLUES
1. When he was discovered dead, Mr. Black had a bullet hole in his thigh and a
knife wound in his back.
2. Mr. Patel shot an intruder in the block of his flats where he lived at 12:00
midnight.
3. The janitor reported to police that he saw Mr. Black at 12:15 am.
4. The bullet taken from Mr. Blacks thigh matched the gun owned by Mr. Patel.
5. Only one bullet had been fired from Mr. Patels gun.
6. When the janitor saw Mr. Black, Mr. Black was bleeding slightly, but did not
seem too badly hurt.
7. A knife with Mr. Blacks blood on it was found in Ms. Pattys garden.
8. The Knife found in Ms. Pattys garden had Mr. Halls fingerprints on it.
9. The janitor saw Mr. Blacks wife go to Mr. Halls flat at 11:30 pm.

The janitor said that Mr. Blacks wife frequently left the block of flats with

Mr. Hall.

Mr. Blacks body was found in the park.

Mr. Black had been dead for one hour when his body was found, according

to a medical expert working with a police.
