FLAG OF ECUADOR

I compared the countries of Ecuador, New Zealand and South Korean. The categories I
chose to compare were: population, unemployment, cellular phone subscriptions and adult
literacy. I was surprised to see a close rate of unemployment (E-4.2%; NZ- 6.2% and SK- 3.1%).
I was amazed to see the adult literacy rate for all three countries was above 95% with Ecuador
having the lowest rate. I thought it was interesting that all three countries cell phone
subscriptions were all over 104%.

The distance between Ecuador and New Zealand is 7106.15 miles from capital to capital.

THINKFINITY Assignment
The resource in Thinkfinity that I found most useful right now is the Illuminations. I like how you can
look up math lessons and interactives according to the Common Core Math standards. Since I am
not teaching right now, I would use it to supplement the standards that my daughters are learning to
give them extra practice. One of my daughters needs to practice multiplying decimals so this lesson
plan (http://illuminations.nctm.org/Lesson.aspx?id=3766) would help reinforce this concept.
