ABOUT ST. AGNES CHORAL SOCIETY

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

St. Agnes Choral Society has been entertaining the people of Belfast for over fifty years. This
year sees the award winning company return to the Grand Opera House Belfast with their
production of the Dolly Parton Musical: 9 to 5!
Our company has provided a training ground for young people who have gone on to
professional performance careers in Opera, West End Productions, Television and Theatre
work. Kate McCarney, a past member of St. Agnes, went on to become a mezzo-soprano
with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, while Glen Wallace, another past member, has
been nominated for Best Actor in the British Soap Awards. One of our most recent leading
men, Patrick Smyth, has appeared in the West End musicals Hair, Phantom Of The Opera
and We Will Rock You while other company members have gone on to pursue a career in
musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music.

Following their award-winning production of Hairspray, St. Agnes Choral Society is

delighted to bring 9 to 5 the Musical to Belfast. The hilarious musical comedy, based on the
hit movie, centres around three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist boss.

We feel it is important to introduce and encourage the youth of today to become involved in
musical theatre, as not only will the production entertain audiences, but those young people
who become involved will gain such an invaluable experience. Not only will they acquire
a repertoire of stage skills, they will grow in confidence, develop social skills and have the
opportunity to develop friendships across the community.

So transport yourself to Dollywood, join in the fun and sing along as you go!

In the current economic climate, St Agnes is facing one of the biggest challenges in its history
and we were hoping that you could help us with our production of 9 to 5 this year. Our society,
at present, receives no Arts Council funding and survives on ticket sales and the generosity
of individuals and companies who recognise the value that performing arts has for society at
large.
With this in mind, we have put together a number of sponsorship programmes that may be
of interest to you. With sponsorship starting at as little as 75, you can make a real difference
with every penny going towards the cost of staging the show. Please see the list of packages

However, if you are unable to sponsor our production, there is an opportunity to take out an
advert in our programme. (For your information, there will be six performances of 9 to 5, with
the Grand Opera House able to accommodate at least 1,000 people for each performance).

Outrageous, thought provoking and even a little romantic, 9 to 5 the Musical is about teaming
up and taking care of business. Featuring original numbers from Dolly Partons Oscar, Tony
and Grammy Award nominated score including Backwoods Barbie, Shine Like the Sun and
the original hit song 9 to 5.
The production will take place in Northern Irelands Premiere Theatre, The Grand Opera House,
Belfast from Tuesday 12th - Saturday 16th April for six performances and has already attracted
bookings from all over the UK and Ireland.

donated. Producing a show is quite expensive and involves many costs. We would
appreciate your help to assist with the costs of the production, no matter how large
or small your donation may be. There are three sponsorship bands are detailed

You will be acknowledged in the programme as a Silver

Sponsor for the show and recieve a complimentary 1/2 page
advert in the Souvenir Programme. You will also be able to
reserve tickets through St. Agnes Choral Society.

Contributions of 350
You will be acknowledged in the programme as a Gold
Sponsor for the show and recieve a complimentary full page
advert in the Souvenir Programme. You will also recieve two
complimentary tickets to the Red Carpet Gala Performance
on Thursday 14th April and treated to refreshments during
the interval.

Contributions over 600

You will be acknowledged in the programme as a Platinum
Sponsor for the show and recieve a complimentary full page
advert in the Souvenir Programme. You will also recieve four
