WHO CAN SEEK ADMISSION TO B. ARCH.

COURSE?
There are two criteria:
You must have passed XII or Equivalent
examination with mathematics as one of the
subjects and have score more than 50% marks in
aggregate
AND
You must pass recognised Aptitude test i.e.,
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)

Design Academy

NATA 2016 stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture.

NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study i.e. architecture.
It is an entrance examination for admission into the 5 years B.Arch (Bachelor in Architecture)
Courses.
NATA 2016 is conducted by the Council of Architecture.
NATA 2016 is mandatory for admission in 1 to 5 years into the B. Arch degree course in all
government, private and deemed colleges.

NATA 2016 Eligibility Criteria

A Candidate who wishes to appear for NATA 2016 must have passed SSC or its equivalent exam
to be eligible for NATA 2016 but that doesn't make them eligible for admission in B.Arch
courses.
A Candidate must have passed SSC and HSC, or equivalent exam with minimum of 50% marks.
Mathematics must be the main subject in SSC and HSC.
Candidates who have passed 10+3 diploma (any stream) from Central/State Government with
an aggregate of 50% can also apply for NATA 2016.

Imp. Things About NATA

NATA 2016 Registration form can be filled and submitted ONLINE from this website
by payment of NATA fees of Rs. 1250.00 (+ Processing Charges) using Net banking /
Credit Cards / ICICI Isure Bank Challan
Download the Prefilled Registration form and procure the necessary registration
documents.

Select a Test Center / Region (from the website http://www.nata.in) at a location

convenient to the candidate and apply.
Starting 1st April 2016 Candidates can attempt NATA for a maximum of 5 (FIVE)
TIMES within Two Years from the date of their First attempt.
The best score out of the number of attempts till date will be the VALID SCORE (
Maximum of 5 ) w.e.f. 1st April 2016.
Validity of the Best score will be for 2 years from the date of their first attempt in
2016.

Drawing Test

The drawing test of NATA will be for duration of

two hours.
Candidates will have to attempt three questions
in total.

The answers to each question will be examined

independently by a panel of three examiners and
the marks will be averaged thereafter.

Aesthetic Sensitivity Test

Design Academy

The Aesthetic Sensitivity Test will comprise of 40 questions of the

Multiple Choice Type.
The test will be computer based and will assess candidates on
various components such as their Architectural Awareness,
Mental Ability, Analytical reasoning etc.
As this test will be a computerized adaptive test, the questions
will be tailored to the level of ability of the candidate.

The final score of candidates in this section will be determined on

the basis of the average difficulty level of the questions that were
asked and the number of questions that were answered correctly
by the candidate.
Negative marking will not be applicable in this test.

Aesthetic Sensitivity Test

Analytical reasoning: To develop analysis skills &

sequential approach to clarify the problems.
Architectural vocabulary: To learn understand Basic
Technical Terms in Architecture Field
Mental Ability: It include knowledge scales that measure
specific constructs such as verbal, mechanical,
numerical, social, and spatial ability of student.
Architectural awareness: To learn about existing
architectural monumental buildings, history & Famous
architects names etc.
