GROOMING STANDARD

Objectives

At the end of training, you will be able to:


Know Novotel Banjarmasin grooming
standards
Be a representative of Novotel with your
personal image

Grooming Standards: Hair


No extreme hairstyles or colours
Hair accessories to blend with the
uniform colour and style of the
respective property
Hair below shoulder length
is to be tied up neatly

Hair must be neat, clean & away from face, and comply
with the Occupational Health & Safety Standards of the
country, where appropriate

colours (it must be natural
color / black colour)
Hair to be kept short & neat
(hair should not touch ears,
face and shirt collar nor
cover the face)

Hair must be neat, clean & away from face, and comply
with the Occupational Health & Safety Standards of the
country, where appropriate

Grooming Standards: Face

For Ladies:
Simple make-up which presents a
fresh, clean and professional
appearance appropriate for work

Light make-up, touched up


after meals
Simple lipstick

Grooming Standards: Face

For Men:
Face to be clean shaven
Beards and moustaches
must be clean and neatly
trimmed

Grooming Standards: Hands

Fingernails to be clean
and neatly manicured at
all times
For ladies, natural and
plain fingernail polish, if
any, may be applied
Hands should reflect a
clean and professional
appearance
appropriate for work

Grooming Standards: Personal Hygiene

Offensive body odour must be avoided

Shower before start of shift


Teeth to be clean and
offensive breath avoided

Brush teeth after meals


Avoid over-powering perfumes and
after-shaves

Use a dab of perfume if needed

All uniformed staff must wear company
issued uniform

Uniform must always be clean & neat


No uniform is to be worn OUT OF HOTEL
PREMISES after working hours

Casual clothes are not permitted in


workplaces, unless otherwise stated
Uniformed Staff (Ladies)

Full length stockings in skin tone


must be worn with skirt/dress

Grooming Standards: Dress Code


Name tag & Accor lapel pin (crest) must be
worn during working hours
Crest must be worn on left
lapel of the jacket (For uniforms
without lapel: 14cm from collar bone)

Name tags must be worn


horizontally above the left
pocket area of a shirt or
jacket (Embroidered name tag may be
used for engineering staff)

Eye Glasses
is allowed to be worn for minus,
plus or cylinder glasses only,
supported with
specialist
doctor recommendation
Frame Thickness Standard (right or
left side) is not more than 1 cm.
Frame Color Standard : it must be
conservative color ie. : gold, silver,
dark colors, etc.
NO colorful frame used ie.: white,
red, yellow, green etc.

Grooming Standards: Jewelry

Minimum Jewelry (simple & elegant designs) to be worn.


At most:
One ring on each hand
One watch per person (NO colorful must be
conservative color)
A pair of ear-rings to be worn one piece on each ear
(small studs only) for female is not allowed for male
staff
This must comply with the Occupational Health & Safety
standards of the country

FOOTWEAR
This is to be clean and in good condition. It
must complement the uniform style of each
property

There must be a consistent style and color of


footwear throughout each respective
department
This must comply with Occupational Health &
Safety standards of the country

Acceptable heel height - 2.5cm
