Experience summary
Over twenty five (25) years planning, cost,
project controls and completions experience on
petrochemical pharmaceutical plants, offshore
installations, FPSOs, green field and brown field
sites.
Experience gained in fabrication, construction,
engineering design, maintenance and shutdown
phases of projects. Most recent experience has
focused on providing strategy and development
planning, risk analysis, schedule assurance and
claims avoidance work to a number of oil and gas
major and independent operators.

Dockyard, Ulsan, South Korea, my function was to
assess and monitor schedules produced by the
contractor, HMD. In addition, I produced plans and
schedules to give management visibility of the
project progress and forecasts. Detailed plans were
produced for key phases of the project, and daily
updates during sea trials required my attendance
on the vessel for this period.

Upgrade/Refurbishment Project
Major upgrading and refurbishment of a 25 yearold Pemex refinery on the Mexican Gulf Coast.
Duties Based on site in Madero, my function was
to develop and maintain detailed time schedules
for the engineering, procurement and supply
relating to the project within block 3 of this
refinery. This differs from the other 3 blocks in that
existing plant was being refurbished as well as the
inclusion of new facilities. The project was carried
out by a consortium comprising Siemens with a
Korean
partner
SKEC.
This
involved
the
development of interfaces between the two
parties, providing individual management with
meaningful plans and schedules.

Project Uisge Gorm FPSO Repair Project
Reinstatement of FPSO Uisge Gorm after damage
repairs. Tie-in of two new wellheads along with
existing wells.
Duties - Travelled offshore to compile a detailed
schedule for the project. Due to the high
commercial priority of regaining oil production, the
schedule period was in hours and twice daily
updates were necessary to give a proactive
document for offshore implementation and onshore
visibility.

Duties Overall control of all aspects of Planning


and Cost through a team of Planning Engineers,
Estimators and Cost Controllers.

Construction and Commissioning of topsides for an


FPSO to be stationed at the Ross field for Talisman
Duties - Initially responsible for planning and
scheduling of the Commissioning content of the
Project. The Project changed planning systems
from Artemis to Primavera and my responsibilities
expanded to control of
Level 4 and Level 2
schedules for the entire Project. In the latter
stages,
although
continuing
control
of
Commissioning planning, I set up and supervised a
system to control processing of work packages
through to Mechanical Completion, overseeing a
staff of four.

Fabrication and Construction of steel and concrete
bridge spans for the link between Sweden and
Denmark.

progress of each span on a daily basis. (Two
bridge spans have to be delivered to Malmo,
Sweden every 28 days, the concreting phase
using a unique and custom-built process).

for installation into the Petrobras vessel Cairu
destined for the Brazilian coast.
Duties - Development of a schedule for the

initial
fabrication through to installation in the vessel at
the AESA yard in Puerto.

System, producing weekly progress reports,
histograms, barcharts etc. as required. Occasional
offshore attendance was also necessary to liaise
