Nowadays, we cannot ignore the facts that globalization makes the world in
unity, the unity in economic, political and cultural aspects. Besides, democracy,
science, information communication technology (ICT), and education have become
an integral part of it. There are so many countries around the world have worked
together forming alliances to compete globally so that globalization makes a
borderless world with the dynamic of the high level of social mobilization
development. As a part of the global society, Indonesia has faced so many
complicated and crucial problems caused by a lack of human resources; with more
than 237 million inhabitants (data quoted from the 2010 Indonesian population
census).

September 2015, WEF has released global competitiveness report 20152016. It tells that Indonesia has dropped three places to 37 from 34 of 140
countries. In addition, OECD also reports that education quality in Indonesia is in
69th place of 76 countries. It unquestionably implies the lack of education in
Indonesia. The development of science and technology has become an important
aspect for modern society because the role of science and technology essentially
leads the way, how the human acquires knowledge and applies their knowledge to
solve the practical problems of human lives. It also implies that the interrelationship
between science and technology will deeply affect to the development of human
resources.

On the other hand, pluralism cannot divorce itself from Indonesia. Indonesia
is a country full of diversity; culturally diverse, numerous different ethnics groups,
and language that have their own characteristics and script. It has around 1128
cultural diversity spread from Sabang through Merauke. These cultural diversities
lead it to the complicated and crucial problems raised such as (1) intercultural
conflicts, (2) disappearance of cultural heritage, and (3) the claim of Indonesian
culture from the other country. According to Koentjaraningrat (1990) culture is a
whole system of ideas, actions and products of human endeavor in the context of a
society that used to belong to human beings learn. In daily life there is a

presumption that culture is something that is related to the customs of the society
are hereditary in nature.

Science and culture are interrelated. This interrelationship has become a
cornerstone of fostering the nations competitiveness. Indonesia has so many
culture having its own strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threats. It is
increasingly probable to increasing the quality of human resources in Indonesia to
compete in global competition. This prospective opportunity has to be an idea in
fostering the nations competitiveness by the expression of TRIDAYA (cipta, rasa,
and Karsa) of Indonesias cultural diversity in Edu-Science.
Viewed from educational development the students of Indonesia are
basically able to express TRIDAYA (cipta, rasa, and Karsa) of Indonesias cultural
diversity. This will set the parameter of competitiveness if it can be conceptualized
and applied in the feld of education in Indonesia, because it naturally stays within
every single individual. This concept has become an innovative solution of how to
express Indonesian culture into science. Further, it can be continuously developed in
the feld of education and educational product.

In preserving Indonesian culture, education has become the most effective
medium of transferring culture. Education and culture have interrelated relationship
because they can complete and support each other. This matter can be considered
to strengthen multiple perspectives that Edu-Science is a cornerstone to preserve
the cultural diversity to suit it with the current development. In addition, it contains
full of simultaneous ideological contents.
As previously described, the writer has little to recommend these following:
1. To solve the problem of the lack of human resources in Indonesia, the
government should improve the quality of education especially in
terms of science.
2. The cultural diversity can fully support the Edu-Science by the
expression of TRIDAYA (cipta, rasa, and Karsa) of Indonesias cultural
diversity in it.

That is all the conceptual framework of how to build the nations competitiveness
through Edu-Science guided by TRIDAYA (cipta, rasa, and Karsa) of Indonesias
cultural diversity.
Let us preserve Indonesian culture through Edu-Science.
