of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County

Chief Steven Cucciniello and the Ramsey Police Department, under the
direction of Chief Bryan Gurney.
On May 12, 2010, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor=s Office Sex

The conduct included JERINSKY engaging in inappropriate sexual conversations, both
personally and through electronic means with the students, displaying inappropriate
images to the students and having direct inappropriate sexual contact with one female
student.
This investigation initiated when one student reported the conduct of JERINSKY
to law enforcement and it was subsequently learned that additional female students
were also victims of JERINSKY’s inappropriate sexual conduct. A total of six (6)
students reported inappropriate conduct on behalf of JERINSKY that ranged from 2008
to May 2010.
Besides being a volunteer assistant band instructor for the Ramsey High School
Band, JERINSKY is a full-time music teacher at Eastside High School in Paterson, New
Jersey.

DERICK JERINSKY was charged with the following: one (1) count of Aggravated
Criminal Sexual Contact-3rd Degree crime, six (6) counts of Endangering the Welfare of
a Child-2nd Degree crime and four (4) counts of Obscenity for Persons Under 18, a 3rd
degree crime.
Bail was set by Judge Donald Venezia, J.S.C. for JERINSKY at
$125,000.00 dollars-no 10% option, no contact with the victims and
surrender Passport, after which, JERINSKY was remanded to the Bergen
County Jail in lieu of bail.
Prosecutor Molinelli said that if anyone has any further information to
provide pertaining to DERICK JERINSKY to contact either the Ramsey Police
Department at telephone number (201) 327-2400 or the Bergen County
Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit at telephone number
