Overview
Introduction:

The project objective is to design and implement an inexpensive and effective prototype of the real
time tracking system. The system uses the accurate and reliable Global Positioning System (GPS) to
detect the user position. The communication channel of the system is built by using the Bluetooth
wireless technology and the short message service (SMS) of the mobile phone network to allow
other people tracking the user remotely. Finally, the system is applied to the health care application
by adding an ECG circuit.

The feature of two wireless technologies:

1. More portable by replacing the cables connecting
2. Low power and low cost
3. Easy to connect and communicate with mobile phones
4. Widely used in mobile phones

Display the user position:

3.

The J2ME in the mobile phone collects the user position information.
The information will be displayed in text mode immediately.
The Latitude-Longitude value of the user position and 6 reference points (both of the
Latitude-Longitude value and the x-y coordinate on the map are known) are used to compute
the x-y coordinate of the user position.

The ECG circuit:

Lead I ECG signal is recorded with 200 Hz sampling rate in 8-bit peak-to-peak resolution in
other to recognize the most significant characteristics which are required for identifying the
heart condition.
The feedback integrator is used to prevent saturation during amplifying the ECG signal.
A Unity-Gain Sallen-Key Low-Pass Filter is used to eliminate the 50Hz power line
interference which is the major noise in the circuit.

Hardware:

ECG circuit:
Amplify and filter the ECG signals from the user body.

The LinkMatik 2.0 Bluetooth module:

A serial to Bluetooth data converter.
ADC: Convert the analog ECG signal to digital signal.
Microcontroller:
1.
Packet the data from the GPS receiver and the
ECG circuit
2.
Send the data packet to the users mobile phone.
GPS receiver : Detect the user position.

The information relating to the user

position in text mode can be displayed
on the mobile phone screen and
updated every 1s.
The user position can be display on
the map if the map is available in the
mobile phone memory. The error is
4pixels = 10m when using a GPS
receiver with 10m error.
The system can display the digitalized
ECG signal with 200Hz sampling rate
and 8bits resolution.
The Google map is used to display the
user position on the computer screen.
