Trailhead The official trailhead is at the

main square of Neukirchen am Grovenediger. Parking is available outside of the center.
Trail features With a distance of 57 km and
an elevation gain of 1700 m, this is a very demanding route that requires a high level of
endurance. It was rated as difficult. Riding
time is 7 hours.

Route description From the main square,

proceed through the center for 350 m. Then
turn left onto the Tauern cycling trail, which
consists of beautiful byways. Keep following
the green signposts with the Bike Trail Tirol
logo to the center of Wald im Pinzgau. The
first longer ascent starts at the church in
Wald, continuing on Alte Gerlosstrasse to
Gerlospass (2.5 hours from Neukirchen).
Having reached Gerlosbundesstrasse, pass
under this road and shortly descend to the
reservoir. Continue into the valley on a paved
trail along the lake. At the trails end, change
to the other side of the valley and proceed on
dirt roads to the dam. Cross the dam and continue on the hiking trail to Gerlos (443). Just
before the center (1 hour from the peak of the
pass), turn onto the main road and head out
of the valley for 2.5 km until just before the
district of Gmnd. From there, take a sharp
right onto a forest trail (440). The following
stage takes you on a longer ascent to Gerlostalalm (2 hours from Gerlos). From Gerlostalalm, the route has some up and downhill
sections leading to Kreuzwiesenhtte. What
follows is a long descent to Zell am Ziller, first
on a forest trail (443), then on a paved road
(1.5h from Gerlostalalm).
