8. Promotion. Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to
become a Commissioned Officer also exist for those airmen who qualify the prescribed examinations,
later during their service career.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
9. Written Test. Eligible candidates will be sent Admit Cards to appear for the test scheduled to be held
during August 2010 at the examination centres listed at para 15. Candidates will be tested in English as
per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE and Reasoning & General Awareness (RGA). Question papers will be
objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi) except English Paper. Duration of Written Test will be 45
minutes. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will
be declared on the same day.
10. Physical Fitness Test (PFT). All candidates who pass the written test are to undergo Physical Fitness
Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes.
Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on
a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
11. Interview. Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Working knowledge
of English is a prerequisite.
12. MEDICAL EXAMINATION. Candidates who qualify in the interview will be medically examined. Medical
Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards. Candidates
declared Temporary Medically Unfit will be required to report to the respective Airmen Selection Centre
(ASC) within a maximum period of 42 days for review from the date of Recruiting Medical Examination.
Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their
Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order
(MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and
Postal Stamp worth Rs. 25/- affixed on a self addressed envelope are to be submitted to the respective
ASC for processing within seven working days from the date of issue of Medical Certificate.
NOTE :- Candidates are advised to get tartar & stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the
written test. Ears should be free of wax.
GENERAL
13. (a) Candidates must indicate three choices of the examination centre in order of preference. However,
Central Airmen Selection Board reserves the right to allot any centre other than those mentioned in the
application. (b) REQUESTS FOR CHANGE OF EXAMINATION CENTRE OR DATE OF SELECTION TEST
WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. (c) Candidates not reporting for the test on due date and time will not be
accommodated on other dates/shifts. (d) Incomplete applications will be rejected. (e) Candidates
should be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the tests under their own arrangement. No TA/
DA will be admissible. (f) Upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 22 years.
14. Candidate declared Permanently Medically Unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital or discharged
from the Indian Air Force/Indian Army/Indian Navy or dismissed from any Government Organisation
for any reason earlier are NOT TO APPLY.
15. Examination Centres. Ambala, New Delhi, Kanpur, Barrackpore, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Bangalore,
Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Bihta, Guwahati, Secunderabad, Kochi and Bhopal.
(Note : - These are likely to be activated depending upon the response of candidates and testing capacity).
HOW TO APPLY
16. Application Form. APPLICATION SHOULD BE IN A4 SIZE PAPER ONLY. Nonstandard application
formats will be rejected. The following are to be sent along with the application:-
(a) Three copies of unattested recent (taken on or after 15 May 2010) passport size COLOUR PHOTO-
GRAPH (front portrait without headgear except for Sikhs), ONE of which is to be pasted on the application
form and the other two are to be stapled to the top left corner of the application form. THE PHOTO-
GRAPH IS TO BE TAKEN WITH CANDIDATE HOLDING A BLACK SLATE IN FRONT OF HIS CHEST
WITH HIS NAME, DATE OF BIRTH AND DATE OF PHOTOGRAPH CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT WITH
WHITE CHALK IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Photographs should be only on good quality ‘Photo Paper’. A total
of six photoraphs are required at Examination venue.
(b) Attested copies of Matriculation Certificate in support of Date of Birth. Attested copies of Marks Sheet
& Certificates of Educational Qualification. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying examination in
2010 can send ‘e_Marks Sheet’.
(c) One unstamped self addressed 24 cm x 10 cm WHITE ENVELOPE of good quality, stapled/pinned
with the application form.
17. Candidates are to bring with them the following at the time of examination.
(a) Four copies of their colour photographs which was submitted at the time of application.
(b) Original Matriculation Certificate and Marks Sheet with three copies of each for verification of date of
birth.
(c) Original certificate and marks sheet of Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent vocational course examination as
applicable with three copies of each.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP THE APPLICATION FORM
1. Corrections, if any, in the application form should be legible and signed by the candidate.
2. No request for change of subject or post or Centre of Exam originally indicated by the candidate in the
application form shall be entertained by the Samiti under any circumstances.
3. All entries should be made by black pen in BLOCK LETTERS ONLY.
4. Blind candidates should clearly mention about the nature of their disability in relevant column of the
application form so that arrangements for guide for them could be made in advance.
5. Applicants for the posts of TGT in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and for the post of Misc.
Categories of TGTs viz. Art, PET, Music and Librarian,' must indicate in the application form, name of the
regional language, out of given option of Regional Languages, in which they would like to attempt Part-1
of Paper-II. Question paper will be provided only in that Language which is mentioned in Column 15 of the
Application Form. In case this column is not filled up by applicants, the application of such candidates will
be treated as application for Hindi language.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
1. Since it is a Special Recruitment Drive for filling up vacancies of teachers in above mentioned JNVs, the
selected candidates will be posted to any of these JNVs and will compulsorily have to serve for at least
10 (Ten) years in JNVs of these states. They will not be considered for transfer out of NE Region before
completion of 10 years period. A bond is to be submitted in this regard by the selected candidates at the
time of joining.
2. Those required to apply Through Proper Channel must act in such a manner that their applications are
received from their employer well before the last date. The advance copy sent by candidate must indicate
in bold letter on the top of the application "ADVANCE COPY'. The advance copy must accompany all
desired documents, as mentioned above. Such candidates may also note that in case a communication
is received by the Samiti from applicant's employer, withholding the candidate to appear in written test/
interview, his/her application will be rejected and his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
3. Results of the written exam will be published in Employment News/Samiti's Regional Office, Shillong
Website in due course. No enquiry in this will be entertained by NVS.
4. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
5. The Samiti may take up the verification of eligibility of the candidate at any point of time prior to or after
the completion of the selection process. Even if Admit Card is issued to a candidate due to lack of
information in the application form or otherwise and it is found that the candidate is not eligible, his/her
candidature shall be summarily rejected.
6. Any dispute with regard to this recruitment will be subject to the court having its jurisdiction in Shillong only.
7. The Samiti may, at its discretion, hold re-examination as and when necessary in case need arises for the
same. In such an eventuality, candidature will have to appear for such re-examination at his/her own cost.
8. No TA etc. will be paid for appearing in the written test.
9. Selected candidates are liable to be posted only in the JNVs located in North* Eastern Region (states of
Assam, Nagaland, .Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Ar. Pradesh and Sikkim)
10. Selected candidates will initially be on probation for a period of two years, which can be extended at the
discretion of the Competent Authority.
11. Qualifications acquired by the candidates should be strictly in accordance with the prescribed qualifications.
Any candidate seeking claim of equivalence of the qualifications with that of the notified one should
furnish documentary evidence in support of their claim at the time of interview/selection, otherwise such
cases will be rejected. Similarly, where grades have been given, the position of the marksheets showing
equivalent percentage of marks should be produced at the time of interview/selection. In the 'qualification
column, a candidate must write the exact nomenclature of the course perused & all . information must be
filled up on factual basis (no round-off marks permitted).
12. In case of any discrepancy or variation in the translated version of this advertisement is found in Hindi
