• 5S is neither for the workers nor for a special area within the
company, everybody’s participation is required.

Take out unnecessary items and throw them away.

Arrange necessary items in proper order so that they can be easily
picked up.

Seiton Practice
• Don’t pile up items without separator:
• Personnel have individual folders in the computer’s hard disk.
• Bulletin Boards are updated and organized.
• Tables and sections are properly labeled according to tasks.
• Nothing is placed under the table glass pad.
Seitketsu Practices
• Locator chart is properly utilized.
• Plants inside and outside the office are properly maintained.
• First aid medicines are available in the medicine cabinet.
• Fire extinguishers are properly and strategically installed.
• Wearing of slippers is not allowed in the office.
• Vendors are not allowed.
Recommended Activities:
• Treat your workplace as your second home.
• Always remember that much of your waking time is spent in the
workplace.
• Practice the above-mentioned 4’s until it becomes a habit.
Shitsuke Practices
• Reading of the newspapers, texting and eating at designated areas
only.
• Put things back in their proper places after use.
• Kitchen utensils are washed after every use.
• Official and personal long distance telephone calls are recorded
properly in the logbook.
