Dear Parish Family,

Estimada Familia Parroquial,

We are still celebrating this joyful

time of Easter, the resurrection of
Christ. It is during this time that we learn about
Christs glorious resurrection and his many
revelations to the disciples and others. We also learn
about the apostles great enthusiasm in proclaiming
the risen Christ. The name of the risen Christ began
to resound in the ears of so many throughout
Jerusalem and neighboring towns. During Easter we
also learn about the apostles great fidelity and love
to the risen Christ.

Todava estamos celebrando este tiempo gozoso de

Pascua, la resurreccin de Cristo. Es durante este tiempo
que aprendemos sobre la gloriosa resurreccin de Cristo
y sus tantas revelaciones a los discpulos y a otros.
Tambin aprendemos sobre el gran entusiasmo de los
apstoles durante la proclamacin del Cristo resucitado.
El nombre de Cristo resucitado empez a resonar en los
odos de muchas personas a lo largo de Jerusaln y las
ciudades vecinas. Durante Pascua tambin aprendemos
acerca de la gran fidelidad de los apstoles y amor hacia
Cristo resucitado.
Llenos del Espritu Santo los apstoles
proclamaban a Cristo resucitado dondequiera que iban.
De pronto, sabemos que los apstoles fueron perseguidos
para tratar de silenciarlos. Con espritu de fidelidad hacia
su maestro ellos aceptaron deshonor, insultos,
persecuciones, e incluso el martirio. Ciertamente son
figuras inspiradoras para nosotros. Motivan a que
amemos a Dios sobre todas las cosas, que soportemos las
pruebas en nombre de Cristo, y que seamos fieles a l
hasta el final.
Por ltimo, permtanme compartir esta hermosa
oracin con la que el Papa Francisco cerr el Post-sinodal
Exhortacin Apostlica Amoris Laetitia:

Filled with the Holy Sprit the apostles

proclaimed the risen Christ everywhere they went.
Suddenly, we also learn about the persecution and
attempt to silence the apostles. They accepted
dishonor, insults, persecutions, and even martyrdom
in a spirit of fidelity to their master. They are
certainly inspiring figures for us. They motivate us
to love God above all things, to endure trials on
behalf of Christ, and to be faithful to Him until the
end.
Finally, allow me to share this beautiful prayer
with which Pope Francis closed the Post-Synodal
Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia:
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate
the splendour of true love; to you we turn
with trust.
Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families
too may be places of communion and prayer,
authentic schools of the Gospel and small
domestic churches.
Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never
again experience violence, rejection and
division; may all who have been hurt or
scandalized find ready comfort and healing.
Holy Family of Nazareth, make us once more
mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of
the family, and its beauty in Gods plan.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Graciously hear our
prayer. Amen.

If you want to see Gods unconditional love at work,

take a look at the 12-step recovery programs. There
everyone is accepted and supported. People are patient
with one another because they all share the same
struggle. Pope Francis reminds us that this is exactly
what God is inviting us to experience when we come
to him. We find acceptance; we find support; we find
mercy; and we find love no questions asked. What
we do with that is our choice.

Am I really aware of the depth and power of

Gods love within me? Can I believe that
God is using everything that I am to help
spread his message of mercy?

Lord, grant that I might recognize the gift of

your healing, and give me the courage to know
that I can rely on your faith in me to make me
an effective witness for others. Amen
