Architectural views of an IT System in an Organization
The business architecture views in this scenario deals with the employees using the system,
information involved as well as the processes executed to ensure the exchange of the business
information. One needs to analyze the business scenario. There exist four different locations
within which the system should be implemented. Therefore the system needs to have a
connection that links the work stations involved in the four locations. This can easily be achieved
by the use of virtual private networks (require a large database as well as servers) which allow
sharing of resources among the four different locations of the company. Next each company
within its location should internetwork their workstations internally to allow each employee to
have access to the system. The system should be password protected and have limits of
authorization depending on the levels of access; receptionist, normal employees, supervisors,
managers as well as shareholders. For proper usability, the system needs to be simple and
personalized depending on the department each employee works. Furthermore the system should
be linked with a help interface in case the user needs help on using the system (Open group
2006).
The enterprise manageability view focuses on the administration, management and operations of
the system. This architectural view is integral in protecting the stability of the system whenever
there exist changes in the system. The administrators of the system cover issues such as
performance; upgrade, fault management as well as initial deployment of the system components
(Hilliard). The components that need protection in this scenario involve software, hardware, data,
and security and networking assets. The database administrators are responsible for maintaining
the availability as well the health of the system. They monitor the flow of data as well as its
protection. They also update the system on a regular basis. The information posted on the

system should be accessible by all employees of the company. The system requires a distributed
management system to ensure effective and efficient monitoring of the employees work. The
system also needs to have a protected room within a central location of the companies where
servers and back-up data are stored (Open group 2006).
