Introduction
A safari park is a wildlife parkland area or zoo-like commercial tourists attraction where
visitors can drive in their own vehicles or ride in vehicles provided by the facility to
observe freely roaming animals. A safari park is larger than a zoo and smaller than game
reserves. Safari park is a declared protected area or In-situ conservation area where the
animals are kept in fairly large area with natural environment and visitors can easily see the
animal whenever they visit by bus, jeep or on foot. The safari park first opened in 1966 and
continues to play a major role in the world programme of the breeding and conservation of
endangered species.
Dulahazara Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is the first Safari park in Bangladesh
around 2,224acres (9km2) of area at Chakaria Upazila in Coxs Bazar District.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is the second Safari Park of around 3,690 acres
(14.9km2) of area at Gazipur. It was established in 1911 and last phase of development is
going on. The main attractive animals include Lions, Royal Bengal tigers, Crocodiles,
Bears, marine fishes, ducks, peacocks, butterfly, lizard, giraffes, zebras etc.
Location
It is located at 40km north from Dhaka and 3 km west from Bagher Bazar of DhakaMymensing Highway.

2) To make a field report on animals of Safari Park
3) To Know the structure of a safari Park

2) Safari Kingdom: In safari kingdom tourists can walk on foot and animals are kept in
small barricade. Main objectives to display the sports and quality of animals to the tourists for
recreation, education and for research. It is about 575 acers of area. The main attraction of
Safari kingdom are the following

4) Artificial Lake: Many beautiful water sources have been created within Safari
Park for wild animals in the area of about 50 hectors. There are 8 wetlands and 2
artificial lakes have been made for them. A number of migratory birds come in this
lake which gives enjoyment to the tourists.
5) Nature Interpretation Center: This center provides overall idea on of wild
animals and forest of Bangladesh to the tourists through light and sound system.
They have also wild animals model, murals and stuffing in their conservation. There
are about 100 type of model mural of animals and plants in there. An audio visual
presentation for 12 minutes provides pleasure to the tourists here.
The development stage of this park is also going on but a lot of green trees and a number of
animals are seen here. The lists of observed animals are provided below.

Recommendations
Bangabandhu Safari Park is the largest and second Safari Park of Bangladesh so it should
be taken care for the conservation of wildlife and Biodiversity. Following steps are
recommended cordially
Conclusion
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is largest Safari Park of the South Asia so it has
great importance to conserve rare and endangered species for our biodiversity. It is
enriching our eco-tourism industry, helping in research area for both students and teachers.
It is also playing a vital role in recreation of people and government earning revenue from
this park. So the proper management of this wonderful park can gives us a beautiful
enriched biodiversity of all kinds of animals and plants keeping balance in our environment.
