Scripture Memory Verse

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the
sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Revelation 21:22-23 (NIV)

SECOND DAY

To be in heaven is to be in the perfect presence of God with the complete absence of sin. This weeks lesson explores
this glorious promise for Gods redeemed people, who join Him after death and will dwell with Him forever in the new
heaven and new earth.
3. When you think of heaven, what ideas, images and words come to mind? In what ways does culture portray
heaven? Do you think these are accurate?

4. What do the following Scripture passages say about heaven, and what impact do they have on your thinking?

THIRD DAY

5. How would you describe the state of the world today? How does the Bible describe it, and how did it get this way?
(See Genesis 3; Romans 8:18-23 or any other Scripture for help.)

6. a. How does this contrast move you to long for life beyond life on earth today?

b. As you await that day, how do you live in contentment today and reach out to others for Christ? (See Matthew
20:26-28; 28:18-20; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 1:21.)

7. From the following passages, what does God promise His people in their eternal life, and how does this give
you hope?

8. While we await the establishment of the new heaven and new earth, where are Gods people who have already
died? (See Luke 23:39-43; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23.)

9. What beautiful truth of eternal life could you share with someone who does not yet believe in Jesus Christ?

FIFTH DAY

10. In anticipation of Jesus return and believers eternal life with Him, what does God call His people to do in the
following passages? How does this challenge you?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
Hebrews 12:28
1 Peter 1:13-16; 2 Peter 3:10-14
11. For what changes do you need Gods help to follow His commands as you anticipate your eternal, heavenly life
with Him?

make this truth a part of your life?
