2-component, self-leveling epoxy flooring

Description
Two part epoxy resin. It has been specially formulated to
provide a durable colored coating system without
solvents. For use as 2-3 mm self-leveling system by
adding 1/1 of quartz sand, as non-slip coating 3-4 mm,
or paint. Ideal for large requirements in mechanical
strength and abrasion and chemical resistance.
It is ideal for:
Coating on areas in contact with potable water.
Floor coating in pharmaceutical and other areas that
must be easy to clean.
Industrial areas, warehouses, stores, car workshops,
super markets, laboratories, hotels, garages, gas
stations, areas with heavy traffic etc.
Substrate
The flooring surface should be dry and stable, free of
materials that prevent bonding, e.g. dust, loose particles,
grease etc, protected from underneath moisture
attack. Remove loose, detached parts, dirt, oils, (rust
from metal surfaces, etc). The mortars and concretes on
which the material is appled must be older than 28 days
and not subject to negative hydrostatic pressure.
Regarding the quality of the concrete substrate should
have a minimum tensile strength of 1,5 N/mm2, a
minimum compressive strength of 25 N / mm2 and the
laitance is removed by scraping, milling, or by some
other mechanical process. Following this, the surface
should be cleaned from dust with a high suction vacuum
cleaner. If repairs are needed, they must be done using
appropriate materials such as SUPERFIX 30,
SUPERFIX 50, BETOFIX etc.
Priming
The surface is primed with HARDOX 11 or HARDOX 10
epoxy primers. Consumption: 200-300 g/m2. HARDOX
360 application should take place within 24 hours after
priming. In case that HARDOX 360 will be applied
beyond 24 hours after priming, quartz sand with a
particle size of 0,4-0,8 mm should be spread on the
surface, while the primer is still fresh, in order to assure
good bonding. After hardening of the primer, any loose
grains should be removed using a high suction vacuum
cleaner.
3. Mixing of the components
Components A (resin) and B (hardener) are packed in
two separate containers, having the correct
predetermined mixing proportion by weight. The whole
quantity of component B is added into component A.

TDS BAUER - HARDOX 360 -EN- 20.4.2011

Mixing of the 2 components should take place for about

5 minutes, using a low revolution mixer (300 rpm). It is
important to stir the mixture thoroughly near the sides
and bottom of the container, to achieve uniform
dispersion of the hardener. Afterwards, quartz sand with
a particle size of 0,1-0,4 mm is gradually added into the
mixture under continuous stirring, in a proportion of 1:0,5
or 1:1 by weight [epoxy resin (A+B):sand] until a uniform
epoxy mortar is formed.
Application Consumption
Depending on the required form of the final surface,
there are two cases of application:
a) Smooth final surface
The epoxy mortar is poured on the floor and spread
(dragged) in a thickness of 2-3 mm, using a notched
trowel. Consumption of HARDOX 360(A+B): 0,80
kg/m2/mm. The self-leveling layer should be rolled with
a special spiked roller, to help entrapped air to escape in
order to avoid bubbles.
b) Slip-resistant final surface
First, the epoxy mortar is applied in the same way as in
the smooth surface case. On the still fresh layer, quartz
sand with a particle size of 0,1-0,4 mm or 0,4-0,8 mm is
spread, depending on the required anti- slipping effect.
After hardening of HARDOX 360, any loose grains
should be removed using a high suction vacuum
cleaner. Finally, a finishing sealing layer of HARDOX
360(A+B) is applied by roller. Consumption: 400-600
g/m2.
Generally, the temperature of the material should range
between 10 oC and 30 oC and the maximum relative
humidity should not exceed 80%. Freshly applied
material must be protected from moisture, condensation
and water for at least 12 hours. During the winter
months restore the product at room temperature with
gentle heating. Immediately after use, clean application
tools with solution of ethyl alcohol and water 20% w / w
or white spirit.
