Tony Tough 2 - A Rake's Progress

Bugs
---Yes, the game has many bugs, but nothing game-breaking. There are certain combin
ations that will crash the game and throw you to the desktop, and a screen after
an event that you can't get out. Don't worry if you crash, these actions are no
t necessary for the completion of the game and they don't provide any useful inf
ormation, so you can skip them. They're not that many, but 2-3 of them are on lo
gical combinations, so you'll probably happen upon them. I have marked the ones
I've found, using the tag [Bug Alert!]

* Walkthrough *

Chapter 1
--------You arrived late in class so you must tell an excuse. All the choices have the s
ame outcome. After you sit down look at your friend and talk to him about everyt
hing. Examine the beaker and then your lunchbox. It isn't yours. Open it and exa
mine the apple, the lemonade and the sandwich. Pick up the lemonade. Since you h
ave no idea what to do, it's time for a prank. Use the lemonade with the beaker.
Time for another excuse. Again all choices have the same outcome.
Chapter 1a
---------Detention time. Mr. van Horn is sitting on his desk so for now just explore the
room. He will regularly leave the room and stay away for a couple of minutes bef
ore returning to his desk. The interesting stuff are on the back of the room. On
the bottom of the left cupboard there's a drawer. Open it and take the rope, th
e push pins and the glue powder from inside. Use the glue powder on the sink to
make glue. Now it's time for some pranks. Wait till Mr. van Horn leaves the room
and try to use his chair. He almost catches you in the act. Now use the glue on
the chair, then the push pins and wait for him to return. Something weird is go
ing on. On the bench there's a cardboard box. Move it to reveal Harold, the clas
s frog. You watch a cutscene with Chucho and Cornelia. Get Harold and eat Harold
!
Chapter 2
--------You wake up in the hospital. Lorraine comes through the door. All the answers ha
ve the same outcome. After she leaves examine the room and try to leave through
the door. Your father is outside. Change of plans. Try talking to your roommate.
Weird! You can press the ringer to make a prank on the nurse if you want. Now t
ry to pick up the soap near the sink. The soap ends on top on the cupboard. Try
to shake the cupboard but it's too heavy. Pick up the sphygmomanometer from the
bedside table and use it under the cupboard. It's not enough so shake again the
cupboard and you finally get the soap. Use the soap to grease the rusty wheelcha
ir and move the wheelchair behind the door. Now use the sheet first with the cha
ndelier and then with the wheelchair. The trap is ready. Press the ringer again.
Chapter 2a

The funeral.
Chapter 3
--------Outside examine the door to the hospital and try to use the door twice for a fun
ny moment. Then examine the area and talk to the postman about everything. Leave
and go to your left. Down the road is Philip and Jessica. Talk to them and agre
e to solve Philip's puzzle for 40 cents. The puzzle is simple. You have to form
4 squares by moving only 2 nails.

After you solve the puzzle you get the 40 cents from Philip. Try to use Jessica
for another funny moment. Then offer her the hospital bracelet. Go towards the t
hree cars. On the way there is the drugstore. Get inside and talk to Mrs. Biddle
. After a bit she throws you off. Keep walking and examine the notice board. Try
to take it and you get a magnetic letter "F". Go up the stairs to the church. T
ry to open 5 times for a different dialogue with the Reverend. Then leave and go
to the cemetery. There's a sign outside. Read it and then take the shovel from
it. Now go back to the church and follow to road down to meet the Sheriff, Irvin
g. Talk to him about everything and he has a lot to say! Then follow the road to
the outskirts of the town. There's sign there. Get the piece of chalk and go ba
ck. Opposite the graveyard is Chucho's office. Go inside and talk to him about e
verything. Examine the notice on the fridge and then try to open it! Pick up the
Tequila bottle on top of his desk. Exit Chucho's and keep north. There's a shaw
l by the clothes dryer. Pick it up. You can't right now! Keep north. This is you
r house. Examine the toolbox and the dog. Don't take the leash yet. Use the shov
el on the hole to get the wrench. Go inside the house. Talk to your mom and Corn
elia. [Bug Alert! Don't use the identification bracelet with Cornelia.] Examine
the flyer and the book on the table and then if you want, you can pick up the ph
one to make some phone calls just for fun. The hotline actually offers some pret
ty decent hints from time to time along with some hilarious lines! Go upstairs t
o your room and read your science notebook. [Bug Alert! Don't use the bottle wit
h the notebook] Go behind your bed, towards the window, and get the candle from
the nightstand. Nothing else to do here for the moment so exit the house and go
east. You're now outside the Biddle's house. Knock on the door. No answer. Go to
the back to the tree-house. You found Seymour. Talk to him about everything. He
gives you the Private Eye's Perfect Handbook. Keep talking and when you find yo
urself in the gas station just go back to the tree-house. Talk to Seymour about
everything and then read the book he gave you. You decide you need a wig.
Go to the drugstore and ask to buy a wig. It costs five dollars. Keep asking for
a discount until she decides to lower the price to four-fifty. Leave and go to
the postman still lying on the road. Talk to him about fixing his bicycle. He wi

ll give you eighty cents if you do it. Use the wrench with the bicycle to remove
the wheel with the flat tire. Then use the wrench on the wheelchair to remove t
he good wheel. Pick up the wheel and use it on the bicycle. You fix his bicycle,
he pays you the money and leaves.
Go back to the tree-house and use the crate, the one nobody is sitting on. You j
ust found the missing piggy bank. Try to get the piggy bank. Seymour gives you a
ll his money. You now have two forty five.
Since you got Seymour's permission, you can now enter his house. Go to the bathr
oom, fill your bottle in the sink and take the fake eyelashes. Go outside your h
ouse and take the leash from your dog. Go back to the shawl in the clothes dryer
and use the leash. You're able to get the shawl. Try to use the shawl on yourse
lf. You could disguise yourself, but it's not the right place. Leave and go outs
ide the church. Use either the shawl, the chalk or the fake eyelashes on you and
you disguise yourself as an old man.
Inside the church look at the offerings and then take them. Leave the church. Yo
u now have enough money. Go back to your house. Your dog is missing. You can ask
around but nobody has seen him, so go to the drugstore and talk to Alexis and y
ou automatically buy the wig.
Chapter 3a
---------You're in Seymour's tree-house and you hear a scream. Go to your house and get i
nside. After a long cinematic you're again outside your house. [Bug Alert! If yo
u wander to the southern part of the town, don't try to talk to Mr. van Horn eit
her in the street or outside the church. I suggest you don't even go outside the
church. If you go and the whole screen becomes a Mr. van Horn hotspot you'll ha
ve to restore a previous position.] Go south towards the old gas station. You se
e that Cornelia's pick-up truck has crashed on a tree and the suitcase on the tr
unk is completely empty. You don't need to take the gasoline for now. Go to the
Biddles' house and talk to Seymour, then go to the Hospital and get inside. Talk
to Lorraine about everything. She gives you a peppermint candy. If you eat it y
ou can always come back and get more. [Bug Alert! Don't use either piece of iden
tification bracelet, or the candle on Lorraine!]
You need some way to distract Lorraine and gain access to those files. Go back t
o the kitchen of your house. If the water bottle is empty you can always fill it
at the sink. Open the over and get the two baking tins from inside. Put the can
dle on the first and the chalk on the second. Use the tin with the candle on the
oven. It melts but it solidifies again very again. Put it in again. Now you hav
e time to act. Press the peppermint candy on the liquid wax to make a mold. Now
put the second tin with the chalk in the over. The chalk turns to power. Remembe
r your textbook and use the water from your bottle on the powder. It reacts. Aga
in you have little time before it becomes solid again. Pour the liquid chalk on
the wax mold to make fake candies made of chalk. If any of them became solid bef
ore you had time to act, simply repeat the procedure. Close the even to return t
o the kitchen.
Notice the gleam from the drain cover outside your house. There's something down
there. Try to use the leash but it won't work as it is. Use the magnetic letter
"F" with the leash to make some kind of fishing line. Use it on the drain cover
and get the missing piece of the identification bracelet.
Chapter 4
--------The bar scene.
Chapter 4a

---------Combine the two pieces of the identification bracelet and you find the identity
of the kidnapper. Go to the tree-house and use it on Seymour to talk bout it. Th
en go the hospital and use it on Lorraine to talk to her about it. Try giving he
r the fake candies but she refuses. So trick her and put them in the bowl along
with the real ones. If she keeps busting you, wait until she's busy writing down
stuff. After she eats the fake candies she leaves. Time to examine the hospital
files.
Chapter 5
--------Go to the tree-house and talk to Seymour. Then go to the Reverend's door and kno
ck on it. [Bug Alert! Don't knock the door for a second time.] Go to the souther
n part of the town. [Bug Alert! Don't look again at the notice board by the chur
ch.] Enter the Police Station. Talk to the Sheriff about everything. [Bug Alert!
Don't use your identification bracelet, or the bottle, or the wrench with the S
heriff.] Now go back to the Reverend's house and check his car under the shed. U
se the car to climb to the back of the church. Examine the exposed brickwork and
take the loose brick. Now leave the area (click on the shed) and go down, towar
ds the pumpkin field. You see the Postman stop at Chucho's house. Go and talk to
him. Now go to the main square, outside Florence Cook's store. Use the brick wi
th the window. The Sheriff stops you.
Chapter 5a
---------The prison scene.
Chapter 6
--------You're now in prison. [Bug Alert! The blanket should be on the bed. Even if it i
sn't, don't worry, it'll act as if it is. You don't have to interact with it. To
ny will do it automatically.] Your bag is confiscated so you don't have an inven
tory. When you pick up an item, you must use it somewhere or drop it where it wa
s. Now, talk to the Sheriff and keep telling him that you want to pee, until he
gives you a chamber pot. Now pick up the broom and use it on the pillow on the o
ther cell. Talk to the Sheriff about the writing and Michael Cotoc. Now pick up
the pillow and use it on your bunk bed. Pick up the chamber-pot and use it on th
e bunk-bed. Finally use the wig on the bunk bed. You make the dummy of a girl an
d ask the Sheriff for help. When he opens the cell you lock him inside.
Chapter 6a
---------The church has been destroyed. Get the lit cigar butt from the ashtray and go ou
tside. Walk towards the ruins and talk to Lorraine or the Postman about Pantagru
el. [Bug Alert! Don't use the wrench, or the shovel with the postman.] No matter
who you talk to about your dog, the result is the same. After the cutscene talk
to Lorraine about everything and then to the Postman. Ask him for his bicycle a
nd watch the cutscene. Now you'll have to get your money back. Go to the hill ar
ea between the stairs to the church and the cemetery. There's a question mark ho
tspot on a plant. Examine it and pick up the first coin. Now go the field. Exami
ne it. The coin is somewhere in there. Fill your bottle with gasoline from the p
ickup truck (If your bottle is filled with water you can always empty it on one
of the drains) and use it on the field. Now use the lit cigar butt to burn down
the field and you can pick up the second coin. The third coin was taken by Chuch
o. Go to the Cemetery and talk to Chucho about everything. You can choose to hav
e Pantagruel buried along with Florence Cook. Keep talking to Chucho demanding y
our money but he won't give in. So, try to put the soap on the stairs to his hom
e. He sees you, so you have to make sure he's inside while you do it. Go to hous
e and make a prank call to Chucho. Quickly, run to the stairs and use the soap o
n them. You can now pick up the third coin. Go to the Postman on top of the stai

rs and give him the money. You now have a bicycle.


Chapter 7
--------The church collapses.
Chapter 7a
---------You arrive at the hill. Look around. Examine the sign on the pipe. Use it to try
to kick it down. Use the shovel on the sign. The earth is too dry. Go back to t
he town and to your house and fill the bottle with water in the kitchen sink. Th
en go back to the hill and use the bottled water with the sign. You soften the e
arth so now you can use the shovel. Finally kick the sign to make a bridge over
the fence. You discover you had your antacid medicine with you all this time!
Chapter 8
--------On top of the hill. There's Cotoc and Cornelia. Examine the pipe lying on the gr
ound. Use the lemon with the pipe to squeeze some lemon juice inside and then us
e the the antacid with the pipe.
