ModuleDescription/Aims:

To give the student a knowledge of basic PLC programming including, the

Master Protective Circuit (Safety Circuit) for a machine or process, 'failsafe'
wiringofsafetysensorsandanabilitytotroubleshootthecontrollogicwhen
problemsoccur.
ToprovidethestudentwithaknowledgeofPneumaticTechnology,component
selection and design of basic purepneumatic control circuits and hardwired
electropneumaticcontrolcircuits.
The final part of the module integrates PLC's and Pneumatics, leading to
programmableelectropneumaticcontrolcircuitsforautomationandcontrolof
smallprocessesormachines.
