PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1
RELATED DOCUMENTS
A.
1.2
Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary
Conditions and other Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
SUMMARY
A.
1.3
Section includes general requirements and procedures for compliance with Dubai
Municipality Green Building requirements.
1.
Other Green Building requirements and credits needed to obtain Green Building
certification depend on material selections and may not be specifically identified as
Green Building requirements.
2.
Additional Green Building requirements and credits needed to obtain the indicated
Green Building certification depend on LEED requirements and documents and other
aspects of Project that are part of the Work of the Contract.
3.
Some sustainable products and technologies are relatively new to the market. Their
selection or recommendation does constitute a warranty of performance. The product
manufacturer maintains responsibility for all liability.
4.
Design and Architecture Bureau (DAR) will not be responsible or liable in any manner
should the final project not achieve the desired Green Building rating due to actions or
decisions of the Owner or Contractor.
SUBMITTALS
A.
B.
Green Building submittals are in addition to other submittals. If submitted item is identical to
that submitted to comply with other requirements, submit duplicate copies as a separate
submittal to verify compliance with indicated Green Building requirements.
C.
Project Materials Cost Data: Provide statement indicating total cost for materials used
for Project. Costs exclude labor, overhead, and profit. Include breakout of costs for the
following categories of items:
1.
Construction Cost for hard costs for all work associated with Divisions 2-10 of CSI
MasterFormat 1995, which are not necessarily correlated directly to the
Specification sections of these Contract Documents.

A.
B.
All wood products designated as FSC certified in this specification shall be certified
according to the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (www.fscus.org).
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1
MATERIALS, GENERAL
A.
2.2
Provide products and procedures necessary to obtain Green Building credits required in this
Section. Although other Sections may specify some requirements that contribute to Green
Building credits, the Contractor shall determine additional materials and procedures
necessary to obtain Green Building credits indicated.
REGIONAL MATERIALS
A.
2.3
Provide a minimum of 2 0 percent of building materials (by cost) that are regional
materials. For assemblies or products manufactured within the 500-Km radius but
containing only some components that also were extracted within the 500-Km radius, base
the proportionality of such products cost on the weight of their various components.
LOW-EMITTING MATERIALS
A.
