A Word from Our Ministry Team

Farewell message from Fr. Ed

I am confident in this, that the one who began a

good work in you will continue to complete it
until the day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:6

As we near the end of another academic year with

its annual transitions of those graduating and
those moving on to other assignments, Pauls
words to the Philippians are good words to carry us through until
the day of Christ Jesus. Indeed I too am confident that Gods good
work begun with us all during our time here together will
continue. May we keep each other in our prayers and may the
grace and blessings of our time together empower us to carry on
the mission of Jesus wherever we find ourselves.
I move on to my next assignment with grateful appreciation for
the blessings of this ministry and for the UCC community that I
have been privileged to be a part of these past eight years.
Blessings,
Fr. Ed Nowak, CSP
Director

Fr. Isaac Hecker Quote

The Greeks with their speculative and subtle
intellect penetrated into the sublime mysteries
and truths of Christianity and clothed them with
proper expressions; the Latins with their
practical genius for government and law
developed the hierarchy and discipline of the
Church. As, for instance, the definition of
the central mystery of the Christian faith,
Fr. Isaac Hecker, Founder
that of the Most Holy Trinity, is due to the
of the Paulist Fathers
intellectual gifts of the former, and the
definition of papal infallibility as an article of Catholic faith, the
central point of the ecclesiastical hierarchy and government, is the
fruit of the practical genius of the latter, yet in both cases under
guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Latin-Celts with an imaginative
and emotional nature have contributed to the development of her
devotion and aesthetics.
[On the Mission of New Religious Communities, 1876]
If you have asked Fr. Hecker to pray for you or for another person who was ill,
and you believe something miraculous has happened, please call Fr. Paul
Robichaud, CSP, at (202) 269-2519 and tell him your story.
