New eTracking tool

De Gruyter implemented new eTracking tool that
gathers more complex statistical data than before.
Usage and downloads are drafted in a different way
than in previous years and as the result cannot be easily
compared with the former reports.
In Annual Review Report 2015 you will find the following
data:

INFORMATION

1) Content usage, separately for visitors and page

impressions:
-

Page impression - the total number of times a

specific website has been accessed. Page
impression happens anytime a page is loaded
through the browser.

Visitor - an individual user who has accessed the

site; determined by the IP address of a computer or
device that the he or she browsed from. If a visitor
uses the same device and same browser each time
to access the website, only one unique visit is
counted.

2) Event usage, gives an overview about the clicks that

users did on journal pages event usage presents
downloads of content, flyer and other various
documents available in supplementary information:

Clicks - the total number of times full-text versions of

articles were downloaded

Unique clicks - the total number of times full-text

versions of articles were downloaded by individual
users (visitors).

Please note: since eTracker provides two numbers in

relation to readership (divided between total amount and
amount of unique users), it is not possible to assess the
increase in readership in the same way as in previous
years.
