Pray for more guys to come
and those who do would be
open and willing to let God
work in their lives to be
godly men.

and listen to what He would

The Final Stretch
There are only 4 weeks left in
the first semester, and we are
preparing for our final offen-
sive. These last weeks will be
busy as we prepare for Stu-
dent Life’s Mid Year Confer-
ence (MYC) in Albury July 4-
9. MYC is a joint conference
with the campus ministries in
New South Wales and Victo-
ria, much like Campus Cru-
sade’s Winter Conference in
the U.S. We prayed for stu-
dent ownership over the pro-
motion and fundraising for
the conference, and God has
answered that prayer by giv-
ing us about 7 students who
are willing and excited to help
in those areas. These students
are praying and trusting God
to provide a total of 25 stu-
dents from Newcastle to go to
MYC in July. Trusting God for
25 students is a big step of
faith. Last year around 8 stu-
dents went from Newcastle.
Please ask God to break down
any barriers (financial, time,
family, friends, etc.) that may
hinder students from coming
to MYC. The conference is a
great atmosphere for students
to fall more in love with God. I
have personally seen life
changing decisions made at
the 3 Winter Conferences I
attended back in the States. I
expect MYC to be much the
same.
In other news, I had to dis-
solve my Core Group on cam-
pus due to lack of student
attendance. The students who
were involved are joining
other Core Groups. We are
also starting a men’s time on
Monday nights (every other
week, aka fortnightly) in order
to serve the guys involved in
the ministry. We (Paul and I
are leading it) want to use the
time to bond as men and work
on practical ways to deal with
the struggles that all men go
through. It has been slow go-
ing thus far in regards to stu-
dents coming, but we are ex-
citing for the guys who have
shown up so far.
