1. Introduction:
GLOBAL
Microprocessor
based
Digital pH, Model DPH 507 is a
precise and rugged instrument
designed to meet the needs of serious
pH and temperature measurement in
Laboratories & Industries. This
instrument
features
Automatic
temperature compensation & Manual
temperature compensation for pH, in
addition to measuring Temperature of
the solution.
This instrument incorporates the latest
state of Art Technology and is housed in a specially treated stress relieved metal cabinet.
All the controls in regular use are provided on the front panel for operational ease. It has
non-blinking bright 7-segment LEDs display of 4 digits for pH/mV and 3 digits for temp.
This instrument has a built-in voltage stabilizer and is capable of operating at 230V-50Hz.

2. Salient feature:
Microprocessor based design with `Self Diagnostics Program the system
Checking itself, the electrode and temperature sensor for faults.
Truly versatile stand along instrument.
Extremely user-friendly keyboard and prompting display for easy operation.
Easy calibration from keyboard
Display of pH and Temperature with selectable mV display for ORP measurement.
Auto / Manual Temperature Compensation with digitally selected temperature.
Poor Electrode condition warning.
Totally environment proof keyboard.
Data stored in NON VOLATILE memory. Totally unaffected by power
Interruptions.
Automatic Display/decimal adjustment depending upon the range.

3. Theory of operation
When a pair of electrodes, namely pH sensitive glass and reference electrodes is dipped
in an aqueous solution, they generate an EMF, which is proportional to the pH of the
solution. The magnitude of EMF is also dependent on the temperature of the solution.
Beside this temperature dependent EMF, a certain potential is generated by the
electrode pair and this remains fairly constant for a given pair of electrodes. Since the pH
sensitive surface is glass, the internal resistance between the EMF from such a high
resistance source, an ordinary VTVM cannot be used.
Therefore an electrometer amplifier with high input impedance is used to ensure
high accuracy and a very good performance.
