Writing Section Please answer the following questions.

1. Please explain why you are the right type of person to teach overseas.
I love to travel and learning about new cultures. Being paid to teach English in a foreign country
seems like a dream come to me.

2. Please explain what qualities you think are necessary to be a good teacher.
Patience, organization, focus and motivation are four qualities necessary to be a good teacher. There
is much more to being a good teacher but those are four good places to start.

3. Please describe how you would deal with a workplace dispute with another co-worker or supervisor.
If a dispute arose, hopefully it would be dealt with privately and professionally, out of the ears of the
students. If things were still unresolved then I’d request an impartial mediator be present to help sort
out the situation and hear both sides of the argument.

4. Please describe some actions you could take if you began feeling homesick or lonely while in Korea.
If I feel homesick I would phone home, write a letter to long time friends or organize a night out
with fellow travelers, teachers or Canadians.

5. Do you have any other plans for your time in Korea? (Further study, hobbies to pursue, places to
visit?)
I would like to learn more about the Korean culture and visit as much of the country as possible. I’d
also enjoy using it as a base to visit other places around South-East Asia.
