In light of some recent activities at IBA, we would like to present forth a policy that

addresses some of the growing concerns regarding oncampus public display of

affection (PDA). The policy intends to take a liberalist approach to define both
acceptable and unacceptable standards of PDA on the IBA premises.
Moral and ethical values can be, and in fact are highly subjective in nature and vary
from individual to individual. The policy-makers understand that while a public
space may expect these many individuals to act under a single code of PDA, it is
also imperative that the public space make it known to these individuals that
certain areas of the space in discussion are under surveillance so that they are fully
aware of the potential of getting caught the next time they get down to dirty
business.

IBA Policy On Public Display Of

Affection (PDA)
As per the IBA Policy on Public display of affection,
Any place or property owned by IBA is considered public property and is subject to
the terms and conditions outlined in the proceeding text.
Tolerable acts of PDA include, holding, hands, hugging, chest-bumping, dancing,
kissing on the hands, cheeks, and forehead, etc. between individuals of both the
opposite and the same gender.
An act of PDA that involves lip-to-lip interactions, caressing of genitalia,
manifestations of sexual pleasure, sexual intercourse, etc. will not be allowed on
any of IBAs public property.
The IBA Policy on PDA is applicable to all staff, faculty, students and visitors on any
public property of IBA. Staff, faculty and students officially representing the
institution on any other public property or event/occasion are expected to uphold
IBAs policy on PDA.
In case of a breach by any student, his/her parents/guardians/financers shall be
immediately bought into counsel for further action. Visual and/or word-of-mouth
evidence will be presented to both parties. The penalty for a breach of the policy
can vary from suspension from stepping onto public property of IBA for a minimum
of 2 weeks to a maximum of one semester.
In case of a breach by an IBA employee, the penalty can vary from suspension from
stepping onto public property of IBA for a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of
one semester.

In case of a breach by a visitor, best efforts will be made to inform any individual or
party related to the visitor. However, it must be noted that visitors are merely
expected to abide by IBAs policy on PDA, and are not bound by it.
If the incident involves force, lack of consent, and manipulation by one of the
parties caught in unacceptable forms of PDA as mention above, the incident will be
classified as sexual harassment. However, IBA will not pursue any legal actions, and
will only facilitate in providing relevant evidence. The victim of sexual harassment
on any of IBAs public property will be provided with maximum institutional
protection. The offender however, will be expelled on immediate grounds and will
be banned from stepping onto any of IBAs public property.
To reduce future incidents of questionable behavior involving PDA, IBA will ensure
maximum effort to make it known to the people working and studying at, and
visiting IBA, the places that are under surveillance, and the areas where security
personnel are assigned duty to watch for suspicious activity.
