World Child Abuse Prevention Day Cupcake Fundraiser

Friday 18th November 2016
Information for Volunteers and Committee Members
Aim:
As a team, our aim is to raise $10,000 to support Brave Hearts, a foundation which supports and
empowers disadvantaged children. This foundation is based in Australia, and aims to terminate child
sexual assault by 2020.

How will this aim be achieved?

Cupcakes will be made and sold globally, to gather the funds necessary to achieve this goal.
Additionally, it will raise awareness for the mistreatment of children, due to the inexcusable
statistics: on average, 1 in 8 children are harmed during their development.
The cupcakes will be sold on Friday the 18th of November 2016. This is a solitary event and will not
be continuous or recurring. The cupcakes will be sold for $3USD each (non-negotiable). Volunteers in
alternate locations are able to use this simple converter to determine the value of $3USD in their
national currency. Sell the cupcakes individually, for the integer (whole number) closest to $3USD.

Permission
Ensure that before you begin, you confirm permission to sell the cupcakes, especially if youre selling
them in a municipal location, such as a school.
Friends as Assistance
Volunteers are encouraged to involve their friends in their local vicinity. This will assist volunteers to
promote the event to their community (school, workplace, etc.), as well as assist with the operations
when the cupcakes are being purchased on the 18th November. Preferably, make the cupcakes
several days prior to the event, so youll be prepared and organised for the day.

Promotion
Promotion in your locality is optional, however, a preference. This can be achieved via multiple
means, including:

Post details on social networks (including this document)

Make a presentation at an assembly
Inform friends/acquaintances about the fundraiser
Produce a poster to glorify your local event
Produce flyers for your local event
Additional means

To gain extra volunteers, (thus additional businesses, schools and individuals to participate) the
Committee would appreciate the volunteers to access this and this poster. Print sufficient copies of
these posters, and display them in your city. The purpose of these posters is to obtain more
volunteers to participate. The Committee accepts responsibility for any complications which may
occur regarding using these posters as promotional tools.
*NOTE: If other schools/workplaces/individuals enquire with you about this event, and
communicate interest in contributing, give them this email: braveheartsfundraiser@gmail.com

Promotion Disclaimer:
It is difficult for the Committee to promote volunteers individual events, due to hundreds of
international communities participating. We are willing to add participants to a list to post on our
social networks. The above posters are intended to gain additional participants and volunteers. If
volunteers want posters to promote their event in their locality, use this simple graphic design site.
The Committee permits volunteers to create their own posters to publicise information.

Key Information:
It is the individuals responsibility to ensure the operations run smoothly in their local area
where they have coordinated the event.
Volunteers are free to make any type of cupcake they want, there are no restrictions. This is
your responsibility to decide. Volunteers are expected to prepare a minimum of 3 batches of
cupcakes, preferably 5 or 6 batches. This depends on how many consumers you expect to
purchase your cupcakes.
Volunteers should be time efficient when making the cupcakes, by methods such as dividing
the responsibility between groups of friends, or beginning several days prior to the event.
Keep a budget when obtaining ingredients; you will have to pay for your own ingredients,
especially if you are outside of Australia. On average, the total expense of ingredients is
between $40AUD and $50AUD.

*Ensure you keep the purpose and aim of this event in mind. Remember it is to support the
children who live in adverse circumstances; these funds will make a significant difference to
millions of mistreated children.
