Use the mark scheme below and work in pairs to grade the 4 exemplar pieces of
work. You must try and place the work into the correct level. Wherever possible you
should use a best fit model, this means that you take an overall view rather than
harshly penalising for one fault. Use the space provided to give specific examples
and write a summary comment at the bottom of the page. You are examining the

Summary Comment
The work done on this magazine is very basic. Text wise I think they did very well by
using appropriate text fonts and sizes as they made the masthead and head line bold
and stand out, whereas the article text was small and in a font easy to read. I think
that they shouldve used a wider variety of image shot and made them properly lit.
They also are not styles in a way that represents or shows that it is a music magazine.

Summary Comment
Overall I think the magazine is a moderate standard at about a high level 2/low level 3.
This is mainly due to the poor layout.

Summary Comment
I think that this magazine is really good on a whole and could score a high level 3/ low
level 4. They had a lot of images that all used props or mise en scene related to the
magazine. They laid it out very well and used Photoshop very well to create the cover,
DPS and the contents.

Summary Comment
I think this magazine was really good and fit the target audience really well. They used
appropriate costume and had good knowledge of the ICT side of making. Over all id
give this magazine a level 3.

Summary Comment
This magazine was very poorly done. There was a lack in images and the
images there was where very poorly shot. The layout was very unclear to
read and did not contain enough text. I would give this magazine a level 1.

The majority of this magazine was moderately done. The images where

Summery comment
Overall I think this magazine is very good. They have a good knowledge in
ICT and how to use it. As well as how to frame and shoot an image. If they
add more shot lengths then this magazine would be a low level 3 instead
of a level 2.
