ORACLE FUSION HCM ENCRYPTED FILE TRANSFER SUPPORT FOR RELEASES 8 AND 9

Encrypted File Transfer Support for Releases 8 and 9

This Cloud service entitlement is available to HCM Cloud Service customers who want to manage the
transfer of encrypted files to and from their Fusion Cloud environment. Encrypted file transfer is
supported only via the Oracle WebCenter Content Server, not between SFTP servers. Encryption, or
decryption, is the process of converting data to, or from, an unrecognizable or encrypted format, to
provide data security and to protect the confidentiality of digital data transmitted via the Internet or
computer networks.
Important Note: This Cloud service applies to encrypted file transfer when used in conjunction with
delivered HCM integration solutions; encrypted file transfer between SFTP servers is not supported.
This service entitlement performs the setup needed on your HCM Cloud environment to support
Inbound integration, Outbound integration, or both. The service 1) exposes the Oracle WebCenter
Content Server needed for file transfer and 2) sets up the key exchange needed for encryption. You
manage the entire process: you write and own the programs to encrypt and decrypt data, and manage
the push and pull of files between your servers and your HCM Cloud service.
Inbound Integration

You write, own and execute the programs that:

o

Encrypt and decrypt data;

Push encrypted files from your servers to Oracle Web Content Server, for pickup by
HCM integration solutions such as HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader, Payroll Batch
Loader, or File Based Loader, and;

Enable each HCM integration solution to retrieve and import the files into your HCM
Cloud service.

Outbound Integration

You write, own and execute the programs that:

o

Encrypt and decrypt data;

Extract data from your HCM Cloud service using HCM Extracts, for pickup first by
Oracle Web Content Server and then subsequently by your servers;
