Dear Aunt Dewi,
How clever of you to send me blue beads! I was planning to wear a blue sweater and a plaid skirt to he
morning bazaar next Sunday, and the beads will match perfectly.
Our bazaar is going to be bigger than ever this year. Were having exhibits of arts and crafts, books, food
and flowers arrangement. In the bazaar there will be folk dances and games. You should be there!
Thank you again for your thoughtful gift.
Your loving niece,
Nita
Last week, I went to Mount Bromo. I stayed at my friends house in Probolinggo, East Java. The house had
as big garden with colorful flowers and a small pool.
In the morning, my friend and I saw mount Batok. The scenery was beautiful. We had a horse riding. It
was scary but it was fun. Then we went to get a closer look at the mountain. We took pictures of the beautiful
scenery there.
After that, we took a rest and had lunch under a big tree. Before going home, we went to the Wonokromo
Zoo, we went home in the afternoon.
We were very tired, however, I tought it was really fun to have a holiday like this.
I hope my next holiday will be more interesting.

The Dog and Cocks Friendship

A dog and a cock being great friends, agreed to travel together. At nightfall they took shelter in a thick
wood. The Cook flying up, perched himself on the branches of a tree, while the Dog found a bed beneath in the
hollow trunk. When the morning dawned, the Cock, as usual, crowded very loudly several times. A fox heard the
sound wishing to make a breakfast on him, came and stood under the branches, saying how beautiful his voice and
he wanted to meet the cock. The Cock knew that the fox wanted to eat him so he said Sir, I wish you should do
me favour of going around to the hollow trunk below me, and waking my porter, so that he may open the door and
let you in. When the Fox approached the tree, the Dog sprang out and caught him, and tore him to pieces.
Cheetah is a big cat. Its coat is yellow colour. On its body are many black spots. Its underside is nearly white.
The cheetah is smaller than leopard. It is usually three feet long.
The cheetah has long tail. The end of the tail is bushy. Another name for cheetah is the hunting leopard. In
India nad Persia men teach it to hunt deer. The hunters cover the cheetahs eyes and put a chain around its neck.
They take it in chart to the hunting ground. When the deer is near, the hunters take off the chain. It runs after the
deer and kills it. The cheetah runs faster than any other animals.
Pollution is the act of polluting something, especially the natural environment. Pollution can kill or sicken
plants, animals, and people. Pollution can change the environment. Things that cause pollution are called
pollutants.
Pollution can get into the air and it can irritate peoples lungs. Polluted air can mix with rain to make acid
rain. Acid rain kills trees and harms fish in lakes. Pollution can get into soil and water. From there, pollutants can
get into the food chain. Plants take in the pollution from the ground. Animals that eat the plants can be harmed,
too. Bigger animals and even people might eat the damaged animals.
