Stockholm

Guide

English

Welcome to Stockholm!
Where stillness meets an
urban pulse.
Stockholm is a city of contrasts. Trends in music, design, fashion, and technology are born here, and
innovations that spread worldwide are invented here. Stockholm also has a rich history comprising
exciting architecture, museums, the Royal Palace and the medieval urban core of Gamla Stan. Trendy
bars and world-class restaurants are shoulder-to-shoulder with historic cafs and cozy neighborhood
pubs. This is a city of modern galleries and exclusive department stores, as well as small boutiques and
unique shops. Stages and arenas attract Swedish and international stars. Large and small events come
one after the next.
Stockholm is simultaneously urban and close to nature; water is an ever-present feature in this city where
lake and sea meet. Parks and green areas abound, and the distinctive white archipelago boats travel
to the islands all year long. The atmosphere is open and welcoming, and diversity and innovation are
encouraged. Stockholm is a city for everyone.
We hope you have a wonderful stay with us!

Stockholm
archipelago
Situated near the water and an archipelago of nearly 30,000 islands,
islets and skerries, Stockholm is unique. Traffic from the white
archipelago boats is plentiful in the summertime, but even in winter,
unique experiences await beyond the city. Here, you can enjoy beautiful
and special nature, take a seal safari, visit historic settings, see art, hike,
cycle, paddle, and eat locally sourced dishes and archipelago delicacies.

From south to north to south...

A new archipelago ferry line is opening
this summer allowing you to easily traverse
Stockholms beautiful archipelago.

Winter in the archipelago

Tips!

A wintertime tour of the Stockholm

archipelago is at least as lovely as one
in summer. The air is fresh and crisp, and
the dark water is a stark contrast to the
snow-draped islands. It is quiet, peace
ful. Finnhamn, Mja and Sandhamn are
some of the islands you can visit in
winter. You can also take a guided tour,
eat a Christmas buffet or ride to a
Christmas market, for example on Ut.

Seeing Stockholm by
water is a must.

covers the entire city and extends to
most of the greater Stockholm region.
Buses and trams are convenient and an
excellent way to see more of the city.
Taking the local ferry service between
the main islands is a great way to see

the most out of your Stockholm visit.

Find us in Kulturhuset on Sergels Torg.
Well help you book accommodations,
sightseeing tours, or we can just help
you find your way. You can also buy

One of many favorites is to

take a boat from Nybroplan
to Fjderholmarna in the
summer. Just 25 minutes from
the city. Its best to ride there
in the afternoon when most
people are going home. Eat
something delicious at one of
the restaurants and then find
a spot on the cliffs and enjoy
the sunset before taking the
boat back home.
