At the end of the course, the student should:

a1. Show an understanding of knowledge of the structure
and function of biological macromolecules.
a2. Describe the molecular basis of DNA replication, gene
transcription and translation.
a3. Interpret basis of DNA recombination and its
application in industrial biotechnology.
a4. Associate gene expression to the phenotype of an
organism via understanding of gene and protein
structure and funciton
a5. Collect e a comprehensive knowledge of transcription
factors and their modifications in cancer.
a6. Describe the molecular regulation of prokaryotic and
eukaryotic gene expression

to understand complex problems in biotechnology and
human disease.
c2. Distinguish the theoretical background necessary for
learning the techniques of Molecular Biology of the
Practical Molecular Biology course.
c3. Perform technical presentations suitable for the time,
place and audience

d- General Skills

c4. Analyse the scientific literature and Web resources

effectively
On completion of the course the students will gain:
d1. Practice the ability to work effectively both in an
independent manner through self-direction in planning
and implementing tasks, and also as a member of a
team following discussion and agreement of
procedures.
d2. Qualified to disseminate information effectively both
orally and in written form both to specialist and
nonspecialist Audiences.
