Narrative Report

Introduction:
Industrial Arts is one of the areas of Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)
that provides junior high school students with the technical and vocational knowledge,
skills and attitude (KSA) for them to be competitive locally and globally.
In Dalipuga National High School under the area of Industrial Arts, students
from Grade 7 and 8 (Exploratory) and in Grade 8 and 9 (Specialization) are exposed
and trained in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II. This program
focused in training the students in installing and maintaining electrical wiring,
lighting, and related equipment and systems in Residential Buildings/Houses where
the voltage does not exceed 600 volts.
The program is based on the Training Regulations (TR) of Technical Skills and
Development Authority (TESDA) which comprises with the following competences.
Participate in workplace communication
These competencies helps the students develop and achieve the knowledge,
skills and attitude in understanding electrical laws, theories, principles and its
application to devices, materials and circuits.
The knowledge, skills and attitude obtained by the students from the training
could help them to have a TESDA National Certificate Level II in Electrical Installation
and Maintenance National Certificate Level II and even in pursuing Electrical
Technology and/or Electrical Engineering Course after High School.
The development and the study of the Electrical Installation and Maintenance
NC II are continuing process. The electrical industry constantly introduces new and
improved technology on devices and materials, which in turn often lead to changes in
installation and maintenance techniques.
Furthermore, local electrical codes and national electrical codes/ which is the
basis of electrical installation and maintenance undergo periodic revisions to upgrade
safety and quality in electrical installations.

For this school year, Electrical Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Arts
had few co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The highlights of the school year
is more on the assessment and preparation of the department for Senior High School
for school year 2016-2017.
This school year 2015-2016 is challenging school year since this is the school
year before the opening of the senior high school program for the whole country.
It is indeed a challenging year since Dalipuga National High School is offering
the Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track in Home Economics Strand and Industrial
Arts Strand.
The Home Economics Strand has the following specializations to offer
a. Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II
b. Cookery NC II
c. Food and Beverage Service (FBS) NC II
IV- Conclusion
With the knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainer/teacher and with
the presence and availability of electrical equipment, instruments and tools as
well as the support of school administration and stakeholders for purchasing
electrical materials, the students will be able to enhance their knowledge, skills
and attitude in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
V. Recommendation/s
If possible, this coming school year 2016-2017, the head of the school
should require all TLE teachers to attend the Mass Training/Seminars and
Workshop on Grade 11 K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum.
TLE teachers with National Certificate NC II or higher should attend the
Training Methodology from TESDA this summer April 2016 and other
schedules this year so that they will become certified TVET Trainer.
