Introduction paragraph 1:
Open or lead-in with a general engaging statement (The HooK): Smart
phones are the latest fad thats got everyone talking these days.
( even though you know its going to talk about smart phones, you do not
know what specifically the topic will be about = costs, benefits or ? Also
its very important NOT to mention ANY REASON or ARGUMENT in the
introduction do that in the BODY paragraphs.)
Next, nowclearly identifywhat the issue or debate is about: The hottest
debate seems to be between the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 4S.
Then clearly state your position/opinion( yourTHESIS): I will show you
why the S4 is a far better phone than the iPhone 4S.(NB. Your thesis
must be a debatable opinion; not a fact)
Section 2:Body = has 2 parts:1) your reasons& their justifications
(evidences), &2)refute the oppositions strongest counter-arguments
Then close with a strong final remark with a call to action or advice:
So if youre looking for the best smart phone, buy yourself a Galaxy
S4.
smart phones for viewing media, bigger screens are better. This is
why the S4 is still better even with the few extra grams. ( 1
paragraph - considering & answering readers' CONCERNS +
refuting the oppositions COUNTER-ARGUMENTS)
