Section 1.

Introduction paragraph 1:
Open or lead-in with a general engaging statement (The HooK): Smart
phones are the latest fad thats got everyone talking these days.
( even though you know its going to talk about smart phones, you do not
know what specifically the topic will be about = costs, benefits or ? Also
its very important NOT to mention ANY REASON or ARGUMENT in the
introduction do that in the BODY paragraphs.)
Next, nowclearly identifywhat the issue or debate is about: The hottest
debate seems to be between the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 4S.
Then clearly state your position/opinion( yourTHESIS): I will show you
why the S4 is a far better phone than the iPhone 4S.(NB. Your thesis
must be a debatable opinion; not a fact)
Section 2:Body = has 2 parts:1) your reasons& their justifications
(evidences), &2)refute the oppositions strongest counter-arguments

and/or address/answer their concerns or criticisms against your

arguments. These should preferably be 1 paragraph for each reason & its
evidence:
Paragraph 2: Reason 1 & 2 evidences: The S4 has a better
screen. Its a whopping 5 inch cinema! It also has a higher resolution with
clearer displays.
Paragraph 3: Reason 1 & 2 evidences: The S4 also has superior
hardware. The camera is a stunning 13 MP, and the memory can be
extended with an SD card.
Paragraph 4: Reason 1 & 2 evidences: Added to that, the S4 has
the best user friendly apps. There are thousands of extremely useful
apps. The best part is that they are all free.
Paragraph 5:Address/Refute Concerns & counter arguments: The S4
is not sealed or tamper proof. That's only because it' designed to
give you the freedom to use a back-up battery as well as extend
the memory with an SD card. The iPhone is very light and
convenient. Its lighter due to its smallness. However, that means a smaller
screen, and since we use smart phones for viewing media, bigger screens
are better. This is why the S4 is still better even with the few extra grams.
Paragraph 5 continued, or 6:address/answer concern/criticism:
Some people are concerned that the S4 is not sealed and
therefore not tamper proof. First, what is the likelihood of someone
getting into your phone to tamper with it?! Secondly, because its not
sealed, you are able to benefit from the much needed spare battery and
extended memory with SD cards. These are two features that no one can
deny are extremely desirable, if not necessary.
Section 3: Conclusion the final paragraph : Conclude by RESTATING
your THESIS: As you can see, clearly the Galaxy S4 is superior to
the iPhone 4S.
Then LISTyour REASONS: This is because of the better screen,
superior hardware and user friendly apps.(Here, you do not mention
any evidence or refutation against their argument)

Then close with a strong final remark with a call to action or advice:
So if youre looking for the best smart phone, buy yourself a Galaxy
S4.

NOW LETS WRITE THE WHOLE

ESSAY IN ONE GO:
Smart phones are the latest fad thats got everyone talking
these days. The hottest debate seems to be between the Galaxy
S4 and the iPhone 4S.
I will show you why the S4 is a far better
phone than the iPhone 4S. (introduction paragraph= Hook, Detailing 2
sides + THESIS)

The S4 has a better screen. Its a whopping 5 inch cinema! The

resolution is higher and so the display is clearer. (R1)
The S4 also has superior hardware. The camera is a stunning 13
MP, the memory can be extended with an SD card. (R2)
Added to that, the S4 has the best user friendly apps. There are
thousands of extremely useful apps. The best part is that they are all free.
(R3) (3 body paragraphs - reasons to support your argument +
evidences to support each reason)
Some people are concerned about the fact that the S4 is not
sealed or 'tamper proof'. That's only because it's designed to give
you the freedom to use a back-up battery, as well as extend the
memory with an SD card. Others insist that the iPhone is smaller
and lighter and so it's more convenient. Its lighter due to its
smallness. However, that means a smaller screen, and since we use

smart phones for viewing media, bigger screens are better. This is
why the S4 is still better even with the few extra grams. ( 1
paragraph - considering & answering readers' CONCERNS +
refuting the oppositions COUNTER-ARGUMENTS)
(( I will show you why the S4 is a far better phone than the iPhone 4S.))
ORIGINAL THESIS restated below:

As you can clearly see, the Galaxy S4 is superior to the iPhone

4S.
This is because of the better screen, superior hardware and
user friendly apps.
So if youre looking for the best smart phone,
buy yourself a Galaxy S4. ( The conclusion paragraph = restate
