Good morning Ms. Citra, my name is Fachri Iskandar Im from grade eleven of
science three. In this opportunity, I would like to tell you the advantages and the
disadvantages of smoking. In this time, I would like to tell you about it for about five
minutes. Please, do not interupt my presentation because Im going to give you a question
session.
Brother and Sisters...
There are no positive thing or advantages about smoking. It is ridiculous habit that
spends much money and ruins your health. I have never understood why anyone would want
to smoke eventhought they have known the disadvantages. Smoking is one of the major
causes of death. Smoking also increases the risk of getting other diseases such as lung cancer,
mouth cancer and problems related to your troath and pancreas then it can be very severe
until there is no cure.
If youre smoker, you have to quit now. its not impossible for you to quit. Many
people who are heavy smokers are able to manage to succesfully quit.
Brothers and sisters,
If we talk about the advantages, we assume that there is no postive think from
smoking. So, stop smoking start from now!. Remember that you still have family that can be
easily contaminated by the smoke of cigarettes.
There are several disadvantages of smoking cigarettes. For one thing, smoking
cigarettes seriously damages your health and the people around you. Most cigarettes smokers
are facing having many diseases, especially lung cancer, which is an incurable disease.
Moreover your teeth and mouth smell are bad.
On the other hand, it is a waste of money to buy cigarettes. For instance, if you smoke
a packet of cigarettes per day, so you have to spend at least one. how much will you spend for
ten years. If you are and unmarried cigarettes smoker, it will be very difficult for you to find
partners because most girls don`t like smokers. Sometime smoking cigarettes is considered to
be rude in some places or trains, in cars, on buses and in markets. Smokes are always being
insulted in some places where are not allowed to smoke.

Quiting smoking is not easy
Keep track of where, when and why you smoke. You may have to observe yourself for
a week or so. to know ahead of time when and why you crave a cigarette. It is better to plan if
you are serious enough to quit smoking. Also prepare what you will; say to people who will
pressurize you to smoke.
1. Pick a date to stop smoking. Choose a date 2 to 4 weeks earlier getting ready to quit.
2. Make a list of the reasons why you want to quit. Be thorough, even if the list gets long and
discouraging. List one or more options for overcoming that challenge.
* Throw away all of your tobacco.
* Tell your friends that you are quitting.
*Ask them not to pressure you about smoking.
*Find other things to do with them besides smoking.

A group of international scientists has detected that smoking or drinking alcohol can
bring about chemical changes in the mens semen, and the changes could be possibly effected
to their next generations. Men who drank too much alcohol have increased rates of sperm
defects and nicotine from tobacco got its way into seminal fluid plus blood. We all need to
open up our eyes and look at the serious consequences of smoking and thus need to exercise
caution.
Finally, I think that smoking is for our health and a waste of time and money, so
cigarette smokers should give up as soon as possible. From the religious point of view, it is
prohibited that there are difference clearly versuses in this holy quran as Allah says Dont
throw yourself in the destroy.
Thats all my speech about the advantages and the disadvantages of smoking.

avoid smoking
1. Stock up: Oral substitutes can be very helpful. These include sugarless gum, carrot sticks,
hard candy, cinnamon sticks, coffee stirrers, straws and toothpicks.
2. Keep active: Exercising, taking part in other activities and indulging in hobbies also helps.
Try to bang out with people who don't smoke.
3. Mind your intake: Drink lots of water, choose tea over coffee, and avoid alcohol. Also,
orange juice and fruits like lemons and pomegranates provide your body with adequate levels
of Vitamin 'C', that helps you kick the habit faster.
4. Take salt: Licking a little salt with the lip of your tongue, or eating something salty will
stop your craving for a smoke. Herbs like ginseng help too.
5. Avoid: Peas and corn should be avoided as they add to one's desire to smoke.
Those who indulge in consumption of tobacco, smoking not only suffer from heart
disease but also affected by diseases like par kin-son's disease (brain ailment), nervous
system, acidity, asthma, cancer, cataract, cough, dental disease, epilepsy, high blood
cholesterol, high blood pressure, indigestion, insomnia and accumulation of fat in the body
etc
