by the people, 64% of the respondents feel it is unethical to use leather
products & 36% of the respondents feel it ethical to use leather products.
The majority of the respondents do not agree for the use of leather
products because it is made from animal skin. People dont want to use
leather products because they are bound to religious belief.

From the above data it shows that use of the by-products of the meat
industry for the making of leather products. and the majority of the people
believe that if we dont use it will go waste, it is found that 48% of the
respondents strongly agree, 24% of the respondents Neither opinion, 20%
of the respondents agree, 6% of the respondents strongly disagree & 2% of
the respondents disagree with the statement. Leather can be extracted from
dead animals, slaughtering of animals and by poachers. Leather is an

The above table shows the consideration from the people towards
animal cruelty to be an important issue in todays society, 80% of the
respondents has mentioned yes that animal cruelty is an important issue in
todays society & 20% of the respondents has mentioned no that animal
cruelty is not an important issue. Animal cruelty is a war we must fight on
many fronts, the war against ignorance, the war against violence and
sadistic behaviour, the war against commercial exploitation, where animals
are treated as commodities with no regard to their welfare and indifference
and dignity as living beings.

The above table shows that animal cruelty seems to be most happening issue faced by
the people, 42% of the respondents mentioned for human violence against animals,
30% of the respondents mentioned Hunting of wild animals, 16% of the respondents
mentioned living conditions of farm animals & 12% of the respondents mentioned for
animal trafficking. The increase in the usage of the leather products will leads to
increase in the animal slaughterings.

The above chart shows about the laws to treat the animals, it is found that
78% of the respondents has mentioned yes for the laws & 22% of the
respondents are not interested in the law. The majority of the people are of
the opinion that there should be strict laws against the poachers that will
guide the people for the better treatment of the animals. Peoples are not
serious about the law because celebrities are killing the animals for the
enthusiasm in them and escaping the punishment from the eyes of law. For
eg. Mr. Salman Khan had killed an black buck in the year 2000 and still

hence it will create an awareness among the people.
