How state preferences generate double standards for candidate

countries to the EU? - The cases of Turkey and Macedonia

Macedonia because of the way how the decisions are made inside in the EU, voting with
unanimity, everybody has to agree on the enlargement issue, that gives extra powers to each
member state in some case to misuse them to solve bilateral issues, like Greece that is blocking
Macedonia for solving the name issue, etc.

in some case to misuse them to solve bilateral issues, like Cyprus and Greece are blocking
Turkey to solve the divided Cyprus issue, like Germany and France are blocking Turkey because
there will be redistribution of voting powers internally in The EU after Turkey’s accession,etc.
