mathematical body of science that pertains to the
collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation,
and presentation ofdata

Data that are counting numbers are called (discrete,

continuous) ___________discrete data.
Data that are measured over an interval are called
(discrete, continuous)________continuous data
(Descriptive, Inferential) ___inferential_____ statistics is
concerned with making predictions about an entire
population
(Descriptive, Inferential) ______descriptive statistics
involves the collection, organization, summarization, and
presentation of data.
A subset of population selected to help inferences on a
population is called a (census, sample) ___sample_.
In a Histogram there no (gaps, values) ____gaps_
between each class represented

Interpretation: In the line graphs we can see
that the number of hurricanes increased from 1993
to 1995. In 1995, it was the year which we
observed the largest number of hurricanes that
stroke to USA.

numerical proportion.
143.)
Pie charts are very widely used in the business
world and the mass media. However, they have
been criticized,and many experts recommend
avoiding them, pointing out that research has
shown it is difficult to compare different sections of
a given pie chart, or to compare data across
different pie charts. Pie charts can be replaced in
most cases by other plots such as thebar chart.
144.)

146.)

147.) Could you criticize any aspect of the

example of the pie chart above?

153.)
comentario por separado y as evitar
tener que buscar en la leyenda.
