Africa to Asia
An insight into the ministry of LCMS missionary

You have been more faithful...

April was filled to the brim with great events and happy times! I was blessed to
spend almost three weeks with my mom. We spent Resurrection Sunday at Holy
Word Lutheran Church with friends. After church we gathered together for an awe-
some dim sum lunch to celebrate such a happy day. The next day my mom, An-
drea, and myself headed to Thailand for a short holiday. We ventured to
Kanchanaburi to experience the wild side of central Thailand for two days. We rode
elephants, played with tigers, took a bamboo raft ride, saw a waterfall and ex-
plored the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway, constructed during WWII. We re-
turned to Bangkok and didn’t do much sightseeing but definitely felt like we experienc-
ing events that will later be in the history books. :) Our favorite part of the trip? Visiting
my friend and fellow LCMS missionary Sarah Longmire who works at CWEF Concordia’s
Day Care. For the last two years Sarah has been blessed to work with children in a small
area of Bangkok, loving them and telling them about Jesus and how He loves
them. It was incredible to experience the rich blessings of God’s work in Bangkok “There is a God that

While Lynette and I only played a small part (angels/rainmakers), the students -God Remembers
put on a FABULOUS show! Those with internet access, see my blog for some
video footage! The students did an incredible job showing how Noah’s trust in
God helped save the world. Over one thousand people enjoyed the musical be-
tween the two performances including over
300 primary students!
May the witness of God’s faithfulness to
Noah be a blessing to those who are in
need of His saving grace.

Prayer Requests
“For this reason, I kneel before the Father…” Eph. 3:14
• Our EFL ministry in HK; for opportunities to speak the Gospel in a meaningful way.
• Prayer as we finish up our last month of regular school activities.
• Prayer for the planning and preparation of summer activities.
• Praise for our friendships with our Form 6 students at CLSNP!
• Prayer for the upcoming LCMS scholarship service trip (4/30-5/4)
• Pray for Concordia’s Day Care in Bangkok. That God would raise up volunteers to continue
spreading His love to the children there.
• For the Lutheran Church - Hong Kong Synod (LCHKS); that the Lord would continue blessing
the efforts of the LCHKS in growing God’s kingdom.
• Theological Education in Africa; The CLET in Dapaong, Togo and Lutheran Theological Seminary
in Pretoria, South Africa.
• My CUNE Family Life Ministry graduate program; motivation and endurance to finish my two
current courses by May 30th.
• For clarity concerning my future in Hong Kong.
• For individuals preparing to serve in different programs throughout Asia this summer.
• For individuals considering serving next year; courage and strength to heed the Lord’s call and
say "Here am I. Send me!"
• My fellow LCMS missionaries serving internationally, for the opportunity & strength to live out
Christ’s love through service around the world.
• For the hearts of those needing to know the grace of our great God
