1) Read and understand a letter about friendship.
The students will be successful if by the end of the lesson they
are able to :
1) Read the letter with correct pronunciation and intonation.
2) Use a dictionary to find meaning of unfamiliar words.
3) Answer comprehension questions.
STARTER
1) Students watch a funny video about friendship.
2) Students share comments about the video.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1) Selected students take turns to read the letter aloud.
2) Students highlight unfamiliar words and find the meaning in
the dictionary.
3) In groups, students discuss the answers to the
comprehension questions.
4) The representative from each group reads out the answers
aloud.

1) The other students check their answers and do corrections.

of unfamiliar words on their own. 8 students needed assistance
from the teacher in finding the meaning and answering

news report and answer WH questions and HOTS questions
based on the report.4 students have difficulties in answering the
HOTS questions and were assisted by the teacher.
