Check the following:
1. Position the unit on a level surface. With the boom
and outriggers stowed, check the oil level in the
hydraulic reservoir. The oil level must be
approximately two inches from the top of the reservoir.
If necessary, add the proper type and grade of oil as
described in the Maintenance Manual. The need to
add oil regularly indicates a leak in the hydraulic
system that should be corrected.
2. Visually inspect the units pins, fasteners, and welds
for looseness or damage. Check hydraulic cylinders,
hoses, tubes, and fittings for leaks or damage. Repair
or replace any loose, damaged, or defective
components before operating the unit. Give special
attention to the fasteners of the following components.
A. Articulating arm pivot pins (arm and link)
B. Articulating arm cylinder mounting pins
C. Lower boom pivot pin
D. Lower boom cylinder mounting pins
E. Upper boom extension cylinder mounting pins
F. Leveling cylinder mounting pins
G. Upper leveling bracket pivot pin
H. Platform mounting brackets
I. Platform rotator pin
J. Rotation bearing
K. Rotation gearbox
L. Pedestal mounting
3. Check visual and audible safety devices for proper
operation. Replace missing and/or illegible placards
before operating the unit.
4. Inspect the fiberglass upper boom, arm and link
sections for dirt and damage. Also, check for chipped
or scratched fiberglass surfaces. Any of these
conditions could reduce the dielectric properties of the
fiberglass. Clean the fiberglass as described in the
Maintenance Manual.
5. Apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, start the
engine, and engage the hydraulic system. With the
outriggers stowed, test the outrigger interlock system
by placing the lower boom control in the Raise
position. If boom movement occurs, the outrigger
interlock system is not functioning properly.

6. Properly set the outriggers. Make sure the

outriggers operate properly. Check for oil leaks from
the outrigger cylinders.
7. With no personnel in the platform, operate each
function from the lower controls at the turntable. While
the unit is operating, look for oil leaks from the
hydraulic lines and components.
8. Test the operation of the upper controls.
A. Operate the single handle control without
engaging the interlock trigger. If boom movement
occurs, the interlock system is not functioning
properly.
B. Operate each function. While the unit is
operating, look for oil leaks from the hydraulic lines
and components.
C. Operate a control with the emergency hydraulic
shutdown pushed in. If movement occurs, the
emergency shutdown is not functioning properly.
9. Test the override system at the lower control
station. When the station selector is in the Lower
Control position, the upper controls should not
function. When the station selector is in the Upper
Control position, the upper controls should function.
The lower controls must override the upper controls.
10. If the unit is equipped with an emergency operating
DC pump, check this system for proper operation.
11. Check the aerial device:
A. Check for broken, missing or damaged parts.
Have a qualified person make the necessary
repairs.
B. Check the tires for cuts, bulges and correct
pressure.
C. Check cooling system.
D. Check electrical systems and components for
deterioration or wear including those not readily
visible on a frequent inspection.

I have completed the above

lubrication and inspection.
