During this Easter Season I have heard many stories of resurrection in the life of our Annual Conference.
On Sunday, April 11, I exchanged pulpits with Rev. Joel Robbins, pastor of Mooreville UMC. The Moore-
Worship Times: ville Church has been resurrected to new life over the past five years and is filled with joy and vitality.
But, Mooreville is not alone. The Frost UMC received fifty new members in 2009, including twenty-two

The Mooreville and Frost stories are exciting because they are reminders that the Good News is still Good
11:00 am-Celebration News. These stories also show congregations that have reconnected to the call of Christian Discipleship
and are re-thinking the way they do church.

We, too, need to think about how we do church. In an effort to reconnect to the community, we are
evaluating how we advertise Wellspring. We want to update our appeal and seek new places to adver-
tise. Our new tagline line is: “Bringing Life to the Community.” This connects both with our name
(Wellspring) and our identity (Community of Faith). The term “community” has biblical roots and is the
English expression of the Greek word Koinonia. Koinonia occurs frequently in the New Testament in de-
scribing the relationship within the early church. Koinonia denotes sharing, caring, communion, joint par-
ticipation and close fellowship.
