ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Summary
Performs research/technical projects and/or services assigned.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Develops and directs research projects


Supervises and advises technical in scientific staff assigned to projects
Analyses experimental data and interprets results
Presents progress reports on projects
Communicates scientific results of projects in publications and presentations at local, national and
international level
Facilitates training and education within the unit
Conducts performance evaluation
Reviews manuscripts and research proposals

Manages allotted resources to reach scientific conclusions


Participates in budgetary planning of the department
Practices applicable safety guidelines
Practices Good Research Practice GRP guidelines
Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan preferred

Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures


Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.
Performs any other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
Educations

Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, DDS, and DVM) or equivalent degree in a scientific
discipline relevant to the research field required.

Experience Required

Six (6) years of directly related experience post-doctoral degree including one
year of teaching experience at the associate professorship level. Scientific
productivity must be measured in the form of publications in reputable scientific
journals.
