Henderson Memorial Scholarship

The Opra L. Henderson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a well-rounded graduating senior of the
Aliquippa Junior Senior High School who: will be attending an institution of higher education
(vocational or technical school, career college, college, or university), meets the requirements listed
below; is involved in extracurricular activities; and has completed community service.
REQUIREMENTS:
Male or female senior of the Aliquippa Junior Senior High School furthering his or her education
in the fall of 2016
3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher
No major disciplinary infractions
Completed application submitted to the person below no later than Friday, May 6, 2016.
SCHOLARSHIP: (The winner will be contacted via telephone.)
Be a guest at the Annual Scholarship Event of STRIVE4XLNTS, Inc. on Saturday, June 25th at 11
a.m. at J.W. Halls Steak and Seafood Inn, 2284 Brodhead Road, Hopewell Shopping Center,
Aliquippa, PA.
Receive a scholarship in the following amounts: 1st Place - $1,500; 2nd Place - $1,000; and 3rd
Place - $500
Scholarship money which will be awarded two (2) weeks before his/her start or
departure to their prospective institutions of higher education providing proof of
attendance (a copy of room assignment, schedule, etc.) is received.
To be considered for The Opra L. Henderson Memorial Scholarship, students must complete the
following steps:
Complete The Opra L. Henderson Memorial Scholarship application including the essay on the
topic stated on the application.
TURN IN ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS LISTED ABOVE BY FRIDAY, MAY 6, 2016.
All applications are due no later than Friday, May 6, 2016. All applications are to be returned to:
