The modules were written with the intention of helping students and
teachers improve their understanding of the new literature texts so as to
excel in public examinations namely, PT3 and SPM. There are two modules
altogether, namely, Ace Your Literature Form 1 and Ace Your Literature
Form 4. These modules come complete with a power point presentation to
further help the classroom teacher. There are plenty of exercises to choose
from and extension activities are also available for engaging beyond the text.
In keeping with new developments in pedagogy, the panel of module builders
has also integrated higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions and the
use of I-think maps as thinking tools. The teacher should find the modules
useful to supplement his or her teaching in the classroom.
I would like to congratulate the District English Language Committee and
the module builders for their excellent effort.

The introduction of the new literature texts in Forms 1 and 4 means that teachers
have to prepare their students well for the literature sections in PT3 and SPM
examinations. The District English Language Panel therefore finds the production
of the Ace Your Literature Modules for Forms 1 and 4 timely. They will serve the
purpose of giving English teachers a head start in teaching the new texts.
While undertaking the task of writing the modules, the writers infused current
emphases in pedagogy namely critical and creative thinking skills. Relevant tasks
and exercises were chosen and developed. All the units in the modules complement
the mainstream PT3 and SPM English syllabus. Teachers are welcome to adapt and
adopt the tasks and activities to suit their classroom needs as the needs of one
classroom may differ from another.
It is my sincere hope that the modules will be a great resource for teachers in the
district. I would like to extend my gratitude to District English Language Committee
and Kluang District Education Office for their cooperation in making this project a
success. Let me also congratulate and thank all the module builders for their time
and effort in producing these modules.
