Personal Profile
I want to work in the care industry and always have; I have a caring nature and love
to look after people. I have worked in a few different fields, not because I don’t have
sustainability but because I wasn’t able to do what I wanted due to lack of
qualifications and experience.

Work Experience (most recent first)

August 2006 – June 2008 Childminder

Self employed working from home
I took care of children between 1 – 11years in my own home picking up and
dropping off at my local primary school. I set up activities and planned activities in
advance. Stopped due to ill health in pregnancy.

January 2005-August 2005 Pre-school assistant

I was part of a team of 4 that looked after a group of approx 15-20 2-4year olds
I read stories and played with the children at their level supervised outdoor play and
set up activities. I also had the responsibility of writing up the observations of a group
of children. I left due to maternity leave and moving towns.

2004-January 2005 Nursery assistant

I assisted the nursery nurses in the care of the children indoors and outdoors, I
made snacks and meals and cleaned rooms and toilets. I left as I found a new job.
2004 for approx 7 months Cashier

I served customers on the till and in the petrol station and helped out on the shop
floor when needed. Left due to finding a job in childcare ( a change in career)

Between 1996-2000 I worked in a few supermarkets on the tills and shelf stacking
and as a barmaid in a few pubs (although not all at the same time!) I never found the
right job and only worked for the money I never had job satisfaction that is why I kept
moving on in search of it.

Skills
I can use a computer though not to an advanced level.
I am able to use the internet with ease
I have a caring nature with an ambition to care for others
I am a quick learner
I am keen to train

Interests and Activities

I love spending time with people I am a real people person. I work well in a
team but can also work well on my own. I like to spend time with my family,
read, watch TV, surf the net, and going shopping.
